There were a few threads that were made recently beating a Final Fantasy game. I've created a thread where you can post about your review on the game.

If you have beaten Kingdom Hearts I for the first time...Please post your Final Fantasy I reviews here.

If you beat Kingdom Hearts I already and still want to write a review, then go ahead.^_^

A great game with a great ending, 1st I didn't like the fighting system but it turns to be cool.

2nd the story line is awesome and great.

3rd the monsters were great and I think they were lvling up, coz The shadow monsters were giving 1 EXP in the game beginning but they reach 30 EXP in the games end.

4th the characters were great and cool.

I didn't like the Ansem fighting thing..not because it's hard or easy but because you fight him countless time that become boring after a while, and I think they were trying to make it like Seph in FFVII (you fight him 3 time as I remember).

Well..That's it I think.

i beat kh a while back and i found it good as well a lil funny at times but good but the thing that got to me the most was the shoes THEY ARE HUGE!!!!1

It's a really cool game. I didn't think that it's something I'd enjoy, but enjoy it I thoroughly did.

The storyline was very unique and engrossing, although it also maintained its simpleness due to the fact that the game is also for kids. I love the fact that the Disney and Final Fantasy characters interacted in various worlds. Hey, anything's possible, right?

Now about Sora...I thought he was a pretty cool hero. A little too soft sometimes, but he can be quite stubborn and headstrong too. I must say that I liked his character more and more as I played through the game. Donal and Goofy just added to the entertainment. xD I love those two goofballs.

The battle system was actually quite fun. In fact, I never got bored even when training for long periods of time. I was just hooked from the very simple beginning of battle to the very hard and long final battle. I also enjoyed doing various sidequests. All are very interesting and fun, although some can be quite hard.

The only thing that I didn't bother with were the gummyships. What a waste. Basically, I just used the default one throughout the game.

Other than that, the game was really worth my money, time and effort.

Great game....

Soaa looked looked very sweet in the game, except for his very big feet and his personalty was very good.

The graphics were really good. I never see a E game as good as that.

The battle system was fun because you can run around, like instead of FF where you just use these things. I never really got bored from playing over and over battle's.

The monsters and bosses looked good. :P

Just a small review. Not a big one.

I beat KH for the first time today.
I started playing ti bout 6 months ago and got bored, i spent an hour today trying to figure out what i was doing before i stopped lol. Turned out i was at the section where you return to the Hollow Bastion, with a lil help from RiddicK lol.
Anyways, i didn't really get the game at the beginning, but i grew to really enjoy the fast paced, fully interactive battle system. I never really used the magic or summons too much, it seemed like they took to long to do. I really got drawn into the storyline, although with the cameo characters i wish they had stuck to their history a bit more, instead of them knowing about the heartless and other worlds and stuff like that. I found the rest of the game really creative, inventive and attractive, i got reli drawn into it. I loved the soundtrack and the backing music, i just wish there was more FMV's involved instead of all the cutscenes. Towards the end of the game i got a bit bored with the story, everything started becoming really far fetched and the whole ansem, world of chaos, fight with the light with-in stuff just annoyed me lol. But although mans does have his descrepencys with this game, i thoroughly loved it, i really wanna play KHII now.

All right, I'm going to do a full review of this, so if you want a quick review, I suggest you don't look at this post. This may be slightly long. Okay, here we go...

Storyline: 8/10

The storyline is pretty good. It's definitely not cliche or anything. Basically, you play as Sora, a young boy who lives on an island with his friends Riku and Kairi. Riku and Sora have always been rivals, but are friends anyway. As for Kairi, yes, she is Sora's crush. Dur hurr.

Anyway, the island where they live is just one of many worlds out there. Apparently, Kairi came from another world, so this inspires the group of friends
to go out on a raft and go explore these other worlds.

Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy have gotten a notice from King Mickey, the head of Disney Castle. He's left, and without much explanation at that. One by one, stars in the sky are going out. These stars are the other worlds out there, and each of them is being taken over by a group of creatures called "Heartless". I don't want to spoil anything about them, so I'll just leave it at that. Anyway, this thing called a "Keyblade" can kill the heartless, so Donald and Goofy go out to find him.

Characters: 8/10

The characters in this game are pretty good, the only problem is that there are more Disney characters than original ones. Okay, here’s what I think of each one…

Sora: 9/10

I thought he was a better hero than Cloud. He has a strong heart, and is really willing to stick up for his friends. He doesn’t have any fears, either. I mean, c’mon, he’s fourteen for God’s sakes, yet he is still willing to beat the crap out of a behemoth! Good for him, I say. At first I thought, “Oh lordy, he’s gonna be just like Tidus.” I was wrong. He’s able to be optimistic and keep his cool without sounding whiny! Woot!

Kairi: 8/10

I thought she was a really nice girl. She may seem a bit annoying at first, but in the end she’s really strong. However, I don’t want to spoil anything for you about her or the storyline, so I’ll just leave it at that and say no more.

Riku: 6/10

Talk about bipolar!

He’s really nice right in the beginning of the game, but then he becomes Douchebags Inc. Then he’s nice again in the end. Wtf? Plus he’s one of those characters who likes to talk about the same crap over and over. Like Ashe with nethicite, or Sephiroth with his mommy. I won’t say what he’s so freaking obsessed over, because that would just spoil the story. I mean, I know he’s doing what he’s doing for someone else’s sake (I won’t say who), which is really sweet of him, yet really disturbing at the same time.
Thankfully he’s less of a douchebag in the second KH.

Oh, and you wanna know something else? He is a clone of Kain from FFIV. Once again, don’t want to spoil anything, but JESUS CHRIST they are so freaking alike it’s not even funny! Just play the game to find out what I mean.

Oh, and there’s one other guy who I won’t mention due to him being a spoiler in himself.

Locations 6/10

All but four places are Disney Based. I’ll just list the freaking worlds and a rating beside them, as I don’t want to go into detail about this place sucks or how that place rules.

Destiny Islands: 8/10
Traverse Town: 6/10
Atlantica: 4/10
Monstro: 5/10
Deep Jungle: 7/10
Wonderland: 6/10
Agrabah: 6/10
Halloween Town: 5/10
Hollow Bastion: 6/10
Olympus Coliseum: 7/10
Neverland: 6/10

Oh, and there is another place that I can’t mention due to, you guessed it, it being a spoiler. But for the record, that world gets a 3/10.

Gameplay: 6/10

The game’s main letdown. The gameplay sucks. Sorry, but I’m just not one for running around and hacking and slashing through every freaking battle. None of the battle really required any strategy whatsoever, except for this one battle against the main villain of Fantasia which was as hard as hell. Although there is one REALLY GOOD THING about this game, that reason being that you don’t have to level up. At least it didn’t go that way in my game. The only time I actually had to level up was when I was trying to beat that Fantasia boss.

Another big problem with the gameplay is that the game never really specifies what you’re supposed to do next! Sora or the other characters never really say, “Let’s go to the cliffs and beat up the hunter!” With this game, I was CONSTANTLY having to run back and forth from the TV to my computer, looking for instructions on what to do next.

Battle System 7/10

It would have been better if it wasn’t so repetitive. At first I thought it was fun, but after a little while I was just like, “Blah, is the entire game going to be this much of a pain?” And it was “that much of a pain”.

There is one really nifty feature on this game, though. When you lose a battle, you don’t HAVE to load up your last saved game, you can’t press “Continue” which let’s you go right back to the area you were in before the battle you got killed in. This feature was probably put in because the chain of final battles. You have to fight seven bosses right in a row, with no save point in between them. Thankfully this little button solves that problem. I really think that they should put something like this in the Final Fantasy games, too.

Music 7/10

Before I say anything else, I will say that the song played at the beginning and at the end of the game was pretty damn awesome. The rest was REALLY bland and repetitive, though. I mean, GOOD GRIEF that music got tiring after a while. I was tempted to put my headphones and just listen to my MP3 player, but I wanted to hear all of the cutscenes, too, sooo yeah.

Graphics 9/10

What can I say? The graphics were great! They kept kind of a childish feeling to them, not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I guess you can compare the graphics to FFX.

Length: Medium to long

First, I want to say that I rushed through this game as fast as possible just so I could get to play the second one. It took me about thirty one hours overall. I started on the evening of the twenty first, and finished on the evening of Christmas Day. Also note that playing this game was pretty much all I was doing for those days.

Dialogue and Cutscenes 7/10

The cutscenes were pretty good, the only problem being that the majority of the dialogue was cheesy and cringe worthy. I mean, it’s not that big of a deal, but it can get kind of annoying after a while. For example:

“I don’t need a weapon, I have something better, my heart! My friends are my power!”

Or something along the lines of that. I mean, I like Sora’s character and all, but lines like that are just cringe worthy. Oh, and let’s not forget the main villain, who likes to run around screaming, “DARKNESS!” non stop. Good grief, dude.

Ending: 9/10

The last chain of battles was a royal pain, but that’s not my point. The ending cutscene was absolutely AMAZING! >_< It made me cry, either because I was so freaking glad to finish the darn game or because it was so tear jerking. I thought it was really cute. So, good job on the ending, Square!

Overall: 7/10

The only reason to buy this game is to play the second one. The second one is freaking AWESOME! As for this game…good lord, what a pain to go through. So yeah, I give this game a seven out of ten, whilst the second KH gets a nine out of ten. Aaaand that’s the end of my review. Thanks for reading, I suppose. Oh, and I'm really sorry if I offended any fanboys/fangirls, please don't hurt me. This is MY opinion.

Gameplay: 8/10

This game heavily relies on button mashing. There's still magic and summons and even limit breaks for FF fans. The camera movent is kinda awkward becuz u use the R2 and L2 buttons to move the camera lert to right, thers is no up and down. Its very fast pace and exciting. Expert mode was hard as hell.

Graphics: 9/10

Only a few CGI moments but you will honestly not care becuz the realtime is so good and perfect. The disney characters look spectacular, adn the FF characters look amazing in Next Gen graphics. Backrounds are also amazing.

Story: 9/10

Very interesting and a hell of a fun time. Never would i hav thought that Final fantasy Disney would combine to make a great game.

Music: 8/10

a good combo of happy fun and dark and sinester.

Overall: 8.8/10

My first RPG and one of my favs.

Kingdom Hearts is a deepful and meaningful game, yet it's still challenging for older Final Fantasy players who may want to play this game but still not too hard for Disney fans who may be younger than the average Final Fantasy player.

The Storyline is more about friendship than love, or rather the love of friendship.
It also shows the meaning of true hope, forgiveness, leadership and inner-power.

It shows the meaning of self believing in yourself, without being too cheesy or immature.

Characters- The Characters are mostly 90 per cent Disney, and 5 per cent Final Fantasy which is a little bit unfair. ( This improves in the second one ) of course there is more Disney characters but it wouldn't hurt to see more Tidus or Cloud in the game. Also disliked how Squall's name was changed to Leon. WTH ? , WHY ?!

The Disney characters add good and cute humor into the game, and the Final Fantasy characters added into the game do their job well, and fit in with the Disney group nicely.

Sora- Sora is a honest character, he is true to himself and hard-working. He's a little naive at times, but he's the prefect main character for the job. Sora is strong mentally and physically which proves to anybody that it's possible to be like this. Sora is just a lovable dork really, espically with that cheesy smile of his and his lazy attitude 9/10

Kairi- Kairi is a sweet girl, kind and unshallow. But for some strange reason- she bugs me. Don't want to spoil but feel like she takes a certain character for granted after all he does for her, she's sweet giggly and supportive but- ungrateful.. 7/10

Riku- Have a feeling that Riku gets far within the fanbases because of his- good looks.
Liked him because he is just like Kain Highwind from FF IV ( as somebody else said above) understand that Riku is jealous and really is a good-hearted character, though he does have some moments where he is a total brat and arrogant. Riku believes that he is the hero of the day most of the storyline when in reality he's being a puppet.. 7/10

Worlds-
All of the worlds are Disney, if you were expecting a Final Fantasy based world be disappointed. Though felt that there is no really, really good world. Felt like they were- pretty good, average or just plain terrible.

[Good Worlds]
Aladdin wasn't so bad, it's when the storyline begins to pick up and the flying carpet escape was really well done. The heartless design in this world was pretty creative.
Neverland wasn't so bad either, was glad that you are able to fly and try and attack foes by flying, though wish it was more than just a pirate ship. The Ship got cluggy.

Hallow Bastion( probably based from Disney's Sleeping Beauty world ) is probably one of the best worlds, judging by amazing boss battles and storyline input. The Final really good world is the Hercules World, where you can fight any critter in some of kind of tournament. You can also fight with the Final Fantasy characters. Sora Vs Cloud !

[Shit Worlds ]

The Little Mermaid world. It's annoying to swim, and frustrating because of the bad swimming controls, and the puzzles in that world are just even MORE frustrating. Stopped playing KH for six months because of how frustrating everything was. 0_<

- Monstro- It was just strange being inside a whale..and the strange whale background how the whale was glowing and had strange kaleidoscope patterns was just odd XD

Battle System

It starts out as Hack N Slash in the beginning, but it slightly improves with the menu combos you can gain throughout the game- like rolling, flying, flying and then slashing.
If you have played KH 2 before this game, it's going to make this battle system look like crap, but before- hand it wasn't too bad and wasn't so predictable Hack N Slash. 7/10

Final Boss

Was kind of disappointed with the Final boss, it's just big, huge strange and strange.
After fighting some really epic and memorable battles before the final clash was expecting something really amazing, but just got some retarted monster with the bad guy sticking on by the end and just waving a staff like a looser. He just didn't have the whole '' I'm very evil '' feeling. He just felt like a Sephiroth tryhard and failed. 4/10

Opening and Ending

The opening starts out unpredictably and the techno remix of the games main theme song Simple and Clean was a nice add. Can't say much about the ending, but it's worth the troubles and going through the hard bosses and frustrating worlds for. Really ^_^

Gave the game a 8/ 10

One of the great things about KH is that it has all the trappings of a traditional RPG – levelling-up, stats and so on – but with the accessibility of an action game like DMC, thanks to its real-time combat. However, one of the minor draw backs to the real-time combat is that it doesn't have the same depth as a turn-based system, and you can, theoretically, just get through the entire game by just mindlessly hammering the joypad like a chimp. That said, it would be wrong to label KH as nothing more than a hack-and-slash, because there's so much more to it than just button-mashing. You can still cast magic and summon monsters – like in any respectable RPG, and perform skills that you've acquired throughout the game. This all helps to mix up the combat and keeps things fresh. It doesn't matter if the combat isn't as deep as a Final Fantasy game because it's so high-octane, faced-paced and exciting – it won't matter.

You play the game as Sora, searching for his love-interest, Kairi, and his best-friend Riku, after they were inadvertently thrown into another dimension. Along side Sora in his quest, are his loyal compadres, Goofy and Donald, who provide the comic-relief, and are searching for King Mickey. Rather than being gadflies, Goofy and Donald are oddly endearing. During combat you can only control Sora. Goofy and Donald fight autonomously, but you can issue them commands and change their fighting style to suit the circumstance. For example, make them focus more on curing, or more on defence, etc, it's quite customizable. As well as Goofy and Donald, you get to meet loads of other Disney characters, like the Little Mermaid, Hercules, Pinocchio, and Aladdin; each one of them inhabit beautifully-rendered worlds which are a pleasure to traipse around.

Don't be under the impression that just because it's a cartoon-like game, it's for kids – because the story does get rather dark, especially towards the end, the game is quite challenging, and there's a handful of mini-games and side-quests to keep you occupied once you've completed the main-quest. Oh, and if you're a Final Fantasy stalwart you'll be happy, because Cloud, Cid, Squall, Aries and Sephiroth (who you have a battle with inside the Coliseum), all make appearances. Visually, the game looks stunning, especially in the flow of combat; it's simply jaw-dropping and shames many next-gen games. To be honest, it's hard to pick fault with KH. Apart from the fiddly camera and the linearity of some of the worlds, the rest of my whines are pointlessly minor.

9/10

The idea of mixing FF and Disney characters together is badass. It's creativity at its best in my opinion and also a refreshing break from the serious FF vibe.
Kingdom Hearts was addicting for me. I played the shit out of it to the very end
:sparta:

I beat Kingdom hearts CoM(Chain of memories) on the GBA. I beat it like 3 times I believe with Sora and Riku. I only did it for the awesome credit song ^_^
I never really played Kingdom hearts 1 or 2. I am planning on buying kingdom hearts 1 since my cousin played it. We didnt beat it; our goal was to find Kairi and Riku but we never did. I hate to say it, but I'm planning on getting a gamesave from gamefaqs.com since I just want to explore.
