Maybe it's because I hate being surrounded by massive groups of strangers (rebellious teens close to Hot Topic; geezers close to the vitamin store). Or the fact that I detest shopping. The random sales people who harrass you as you pass 'em by doesn't help much either. Oh, and the revolting smell of chinese food, seafood, hot pretzels and nail polish mixing in the air gets old fast...

I hate the mall. Anyone else feel the same? Maybe you adore it, choosing to spend more time there than anywhere else. I'm sure you wouldn't be alone.

I love shopping but I hate all the people -_-

They just stop randomly infront of you causing a near collision, walk to slowly or gneraly hog the ailse

I hate those stupid clipboard people that are always after your money

and the staff in shops asking if you would like a store card

GO AWAY. All I want is some new shoes, get out of my way, stop harrassing me and leave me alone

I love the mall! I remember back in my high school days, my friends and I would just hang out at the mall, not shopping, but just walking around. It's quite fun. The people don't bother me as that's the type of environment that I'd like to be in once in awhile. I'm always usually at home that I do crave the sight of others around me, minding their own business and having fun with their family and friends. It's a cool feeling, really. But of course, there are those stupid people out there who are quite rude too. I rarely encounter them though.

I agree...but it's not just the mall...my bf and I actually avoid the streets between the hours of 12 and 3 pm...that's when all the...as he puts it..."hood rats" come crawling out from school.

But the mall is one of the worst, I agree...mall rats...gross...

We havent got malls over in the UK, well we might have one or 2 but I've never ever seen one in Wales

I'm tired of malls i've been to to many and all dat walking gets me mad.

Oh my mom took me shopping with her last time I visited Wales. She lives in Newport. ^.^

I liked the shopping..."setup"...they had a few indoor shops and whatnot, but it wasn't like the it place for "mall rats".

The smell doesn't bother me, but a few things do.

The people stopping in the middle of narrow aisles for no reason at all.
The people stopping at the top (or bottom) of an escalator for no reason at all.
The pushy sales people.
The hobos just outside the mall continuously begging for spare change.
The long line-ups.
The person in front of the line holding back everyone else.
The clerk behind the cash register asking if you want to accept some offer I don't really give a crap about.

Yeah, the "mall rats" are definitely a bother. The place is crowded enough without all the people who don't actually have business to do there.

And the people who walk at a snail's pace are also annoying. I can appreciate that you aren't in a hurry, but c'mon. You don't have to walk side-by-side smack dab in the center of the walkway if you're gonna be moving like an elderly person.

Wow, you guys notice these things? I barely give it a second thought at all. =/ I'm usually just set on my business nowadays, nor do I care or wonder if the people around me have any business at the mall or not. If they're there to shop, fine. If not, fine. It's all the same anyway. Everyone walks, you pass them for a few seconds, and they're gone. You focus on ahead. Same old, same old. No biggie to me. xD

I don't get how most people 'hang out' at the mall. Probably 'cause there lots to do, but in the end, you'll just spend your time walking and ogling items that you may not even buy. >.>

I like the mall, but what people use it for is a whole other deal.

I love everything about the mall, it's one of my most favorite places to go. The mall by me is pretty kick ass though, and I normally go there during the week when everyone is at school or work.

I'm a big shopper and I love to just look around and such. I love eating the mall food and I can just find so much to do while at the mall be it shopping, just trying on clothes, the arcade, the food court, or just plain old people watching.

y'know whats worse than the mall?

An empty mall...

actually, it creeps me out a little, seeing as I've watched Dawn of the Dead and that mall was empty. and Eight Legged Freaks as well. *shudder*

And the people who walk at a snail's pace

Oh yes, th tempation to thump those fuckers in the back of the head is just far to great. I f they want to stop for a fucking natter, they should do it out of the way of TRAFFIC. That really gets my goat

I agree with you VoN. Of course, I love shopping but I can't stand the crowds. It's absolutely disgusting on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays at the mall... Why? Because teenagers completely ruin my shopping experience. Teenage girls dress like crack whores to draw attention and to stand there asking to get fucked. I wonder to myself... "How many STDs do these fucking teens have!?" I tend to avoid crowds by going to the mall in the morning and leave around 3 before it gets infested.

As I said, I can't stand malls and I try to finish my shopping quick.

I guess I should try to mind my own business about what other people do at the mall...

...but why the hell would you wait in line for an hour just to get an Auntie Anne's hot pretzel!?

But yeah, I like the way you go about your mall business, ma'am. It's probably the right way to do it.

Seriously. I can't count the amount of times I say "excuse me" or "pardon me" or "sorry for almost trampling you" during a trip to the mall. They just stop in the middle of traffic. I don't want to walk over a poor lady and her small daughter, but it's tough when it's ass to ass traffic and people are making sudden stops.

That's a good plan. If there's really teenage girls whoring themselves off at your mall, then I won't complain too much about my shopping experiences. I'm not looking to leave the mall with a pair of jeans and a case of HIV. haha

why dont you try yelling "hey, does this look contagious to you!?" that should clear the area quick!

I'd probably get a ton of confused stares. After a few seconds of relative silence, everyone would probably go on as they were.

Screaming about a bomb or a fire would probably be more effective! Or a 75% off sale at Old Navy. Any of those.

that'd also land you in prison for a false bomb threat. hope you enjoy the anal rape...

EDIT: also, yelling out "75% off sale at Old Navy!" while in a crowd will only get you trampled.
