So I just saw this movie today, my dad spontaneously decided he wanted to see it so I figured why not, I'd been wanting to see it anyway.

It was fairly different from the book (then again, I wouldn't expect anything different of an adaptation), but it was good nonetheless, albeit very sad. I've always liked Will Smith, and he did a damn good job in this movie, especially considering that for a large portion of the movie he's the only actor.

So who here has seen it and did you like it? Orrr who here hasn't seen it but wants to, or who here has read the book?

I haven't seen it myself but a group of intend to do so on wednesday. This looks absolutely amazing and, given that this is not the first move adaption of the book, it must live up to its legendary name, so to speak.
 
I'm not sure if it lives up to its legendary name...hell, if you read the book you'll discover the title has a very profound meaning and the movie completely sheds it. It's almost a different story, but it's still very much worth watching.
 
I first read up on it on Wiki too, then I went out and bought the book. Even knowing what the title meant, I was still like "woah..." That's all gone in the movie.

I suggest reading the book, then seeing the movie. Or you can do it vice versa if you'd like. You'll forever see Dr. Neville as Will Smith in your mind, but that's nowhere near as horrific as seeing Elijah Wood in your mind when you try to re-read Lord of the Rings. I won't ever be able to touch that book again.

Saw it though, and it was good. Not the best film I've ever seen but definitely one to watch again. Fred was a great character. xD

Yeah, it was written in 1954 by Richard Matheson (the guy who did The Shrinking Man). It's actually had a couple movies based on it before this one came out, but I haven't seen them yet.
 
Havent seen it and avoiding spoilers lol. The books sold well at my work and I love Will Smith, so I shall see it when I get a chance!
 
I saw the film "I Am Legend" in a local movie theater with my family. It stars my favorite actor Will Smith. I nearly any film starring him. The title "I Am Legend" is associated with the film's ending.

Why so it is :monster: I was kinda disappointed that they changed its meaning though...in the book the title had alot more impact. Ah well, I shan't complain since I enjoyed the film anyway.
 
I watched it today ... I wasn't sure what I was expecting but It was definetly better then I imagined it would be ... I liked it.

I had no idea it was based from a book.
 
Seen it last night and I loved it. The ending was almost tear jerking for me and Smith was a great actor with the emotion he showed. Great movie.

The ending wasn't as bad for me as the lab scene with Sam...oh god, that was hard to watch T_T
 
Sam's full name is Samantha.
She dies in the film.

Will Smith's character's name is Robert Neville. The film also stars Will's real life daughter Willow. This is Willow Smith's first appearance in a film.

I just saw it a few hours ago and I must say that his emotions in the movie really surprised me. I've only seen a few movies starring him (usually funny roles), so I am not used to seeing him act a dramatic role.

The movie was very slow-paced at first, but gets interesting later on.

Ok spoilers alert time.
Well, I was just wondering how the darkstalkers followed and found Neville in his home...? Yes, I know that Anna brought him home during night time and possibly traced his blood to his own home...

But could it also be possible that the dark stalker's leader (the one who has some clothes on) may be searching for his mate? (The girl that Neville captured). Notice that when Neville captured the girl, the leader actually went and came into contact with the sunlight, evidence that there might actually be social structure organization because well...he wanted his mate back? (Remember that Neville referred to them as mindless, de-evolutionized creatures? That there is no trace left of human traits? That theory could be wrong, if there is actually communication between the darkstalkers.)

And then there was that one scene where Neville fell for a trap...a trap similar to the one he had set for that darkstalker girl. The leader had set up that mannequin to lure him in. So, there is some human traits left after all.

I don't know, it was just a thought. Could be wrong.

Im sorry but why tell us who Will Smith plays when we've seen the film and basically know ...

And @ VR, thats what I was refering to. The emotion Smith shows is superb and I like it when an actor is truly believeable with their performance. Also when he goes into save Sam and when he shows true fear, its great! Guy should get an award for this film.

And the leader of the Darkstalkers is actually an actor Ive fancied for years. Dash Mihok! I was so shocked lol!

I'm guessing it all comes down to their still being some form of social structure in the Darkstalker world. The leader obviously goes for revenge, for Neville capturing his mate, and obviously has some level of intelligence left for copying the trap.
So similarly, I assume that a small number followed the car back to his house and then told the leader where to find Neville.
 
Its received a lot of good reviews so I'm probably going to check this film out, and he trailer looks great too.

Anyway, any film Will Smith is in pwns ^_^
 
I love I Am Legend! I saw it the night it came out, and it was so startling and chaotic at parts, I wanted to look away. I even did for a few seconds. >>

I've never liked Will Smith, but he does a decent job in this movie. I still think the dog was the best actress out of all of them, though.
