Is this game coming out at the same time as FF13?? Does it have anything to do with FF13? Please help me out here:blink:

Yep, Zexion is absolutely correct. It's going to be a completely different story, same world, different time period. The release will be at the same time. The game will just take place in the same world at different points in its history -> (See: Ivalice)
 
From what I have gathered, it will be released later than FFXIII. How much so, I am not sure. Probably months or a year. They are different, but share the same common 'mythos.'
 
gonna say its a bad move if they are seperate games, to release them at the same time
 
Will this game be a Prequel or a Sequel to FFXIII? Also, I read somewhere that Versus will have a different Battle System...a Turn Based Battle System like FFX I think.
 
No, it's suppose to be a game that takes place in the same world but not neccessarily with the same characters or in the same point in time. Just like if you played two games in NY, things would be different in the 1800s from how they are now.

The game will also be "Kingdom Heart"-ish in nature as far as the gameplay goes. I'd expect more badassery, less cutsie. Probably Zelda is a better description but comparing your own game to one outside your company is a little taboo.
 
Hmmm..if it takes place in a different point in time...maybe Versus will explain all of our crazy questions after playing XIII! =]

because when you release them at different times ppl want to buy both of the games (when you finished the 1st one the second is out, and you gonna buy that one)...
When you release them together ppl gonna buy the one or the other...
Or atleast they will sell less then...
 
I'm pretty sure I heard that they were going to release them on different dates. Why? Well, Hyperknuck had a good reason. I mean, these are 40 hour long games typically. If they release them at the same time, consumers will buy one and wait for a price drop on the other. Why would they want their own games to compete?

Also, they're being handled by different teams that started their projects on different dates. FFXIII I believe is being handled by the team that handled FFX so they've been working on this game for a while. Versus is being worked on by the KH and Advent Children people who started quite a bit later than the other team.
 
You know what? no one knows. Square Enix is shutting up on this, and what I think it will be is a hack-and-slash RPG version of FFXIII. You know, like you equip with all the cool weapons, you buy, you sell, you level up, but out in combat you mash buttons to do gigantic combos. THAT would be k00l!
 
Hmm I'm confused too... When I read the name "Verus" I just assumed it was a multiplayer game lol. It's a bit misleading you have to admit.
So let me get this straight, they're two different games set int he same world? One's a normal fully fledged FF game and the other is what? It's said to be a spin-off so umm what's that like?
It would be cool if they were both fully fledge FF games. With Lightning the main character in one and that guy with dark blue hair the main character in the other? I dunno... I can't wait to find out though :D
