Okay, I remember playing FFVII a while ago, and I was in the middle of recruiting Yuffie. Anyways, after you beat her and enter the fake area place, Cloud can move around freely and chat to his party and a bunch of other stuff.

Well, the last time I did that, I had Vincent in my party. Now when Cloud talks to Vincent, our favorite implied-vampire dude says "She looks familiar" or something along those lines.

Now is was that just a one time ploy of Square-Enix for no reason, or is there a basis for the statement.

Is it possible that in one of the many Final Fantasy spin-offs there's reference to that, 'cause I remember reading somewhere that said something about "that ninja" being Yuffie in an anime thingy, but I don't really know.

So how do Vincent and Yuffie know each other?

Wow that's confusing. Considering that Vincent had been in his coffin locked away for roughly 30 years he can't have known Yuffie, hehehe unless he had a TV in that room or something! Or did Yuffie sneak into his room?

I do remember Vincent saying that, but I didn't think he was talking about Yuffie, though to be honest I wasn't sure who he was talking about, being the loveable cryptic he is.

Gosh you've got me wondering about that now!! But where exactly was it, the fake area? Might help me think who else was there that he could have been referring to:blink:

When I meant fake area, I meant that after you beat Yuffie, you go to that patch of field that had a fake save spot.

Oh no wait I know what you mean now, when you have to choose the right sentence to get Yuffie to join you. Right I've got it now!

And actually I know what you mean now, Vincent must be referring to Yuffie if they are trying to recruit her. Gosh, he couldn't be talking about anyone else!!! Argh I'm even more intrigued now!!!

This is all speculation from me, but perhaps Vincent was involved in Wutai as a turk and saw Yuffies mother? Or perhaps he just thinks she looks familiar to someone he saw in Wutai before?

Or, it could just be a random generic line anyone could say that has no relevance...

maybe he knew of yuffies family, before he got locke dup, he may have encountered her family a few times.to say he is her father...thats taking a bodl step..
but! lets flash forawrd to dirge of cerberus.. yuffie does play a bigger part in that game than the rest of teh old crew..

makes you think...hmmmm

omg! and she has jet black hair just like him... this is very intriguing!! could he really b her father?

AAARGH this is messing with my head!!!!>_<

It could be possible, I just didn't think he was like that, he seemed really dorky and innocent as a Turk. Almost like he didn't belong in the Turks.

But if he is Yuffie's father, then what does that mean with regards to Godo? Would he think he is Yuffie's father? Did he get duped somehow?

No I think it's more likely that Vincent came across Yuffie's family at some point, them being pretty authoritive in Wutai and all. This is slightly off-topic, but Rosso seemed to know who Yuffie was in DoC (WUTAI FLEA!!!!), so obviously the family have a lot of status even to reach Deepground in reputation.

I think it's probably yet more dodgy translation >_>

Im with the war in Wutai theory way back whenever it was, Vincent probably did just come a cross her mother as Im assuming as a Turk he would have been dispatched there at some point

yea and i just remembered that u meet yuffie's dad later on in the game (or at least fight him) so i guess vincents not her dad.. 2 bad i waz happy cause i thought vincent actually had something good come out of his life.. poor guy

No Vincent isnt Yuffie's father. You have to remember He's stuck in a coffin and the earliest he wakes up from the coffin is in the Before Crisis Storyline ( which is 6 years before FFVII). He helps Verdot and the Turks with some things. So at this time Yuffie is already 10.

I'm more for on the lines of bad translation at that point. If someone can get their hands on the original Japanese conversation it might be more similar to "her weapon looks familiar" from what i heard. And this points to him having some connections to Wutai either as a Turk or maybe a resident.
