hey anyone ever wonder why you cant send that guy on his world trip with his wife and you cant pick up that 3rd item? it took me over a year to figure this out in 1999 but what they mean by going to the underwater area is to fight in that long tunnel and you end up fighting a skeleton in a pirate ship......before he knocks you away or you kill him........STEAL from him......he gives you a book that you can finally give to the old man in Nibelheim or Calm and send him on his world trip....the prize is rather stupid though as all you get is a bird that goes around the world......uh note to people who made this game.......to get to this point of the game YOU ALREADY NEEDED A BIRD THAT GOES AROUND THE WORLD EINSTEINS......stupid or what......well enjoy all :lol:
 
Actually, the item the old man gives you, is the Underwater Materia. Which stops the countdown when you fight Emerald Weapon. He gives you the Gold Chocobo when you give him the Desert Rose, which you recieve from defeating Ruby Weapon. Desert Harp, from Emerald Weapon, gets you master materia.

That's more like it. :P
 
Not everyone bothers to get a Gold Chocobo, because they wouldn't want to take that time. Some people are just really good at battling, and so they decide to take the route where all they have to do is fight stuff to get prizes. It's probably simpler to do it that way, though if you want a Gold Chocobo before level 99, you do need to breed them.

however you need to get a gold chocobo if you want KOTR so whatever turns your crank :P
 
Managed to get all the items from the old man before, but
it was tough and it was kinda hard trying to locate Ruby weapon.
 
I only got one item :P, I couldn't do the other ones, xD. And yeah, you need a Gold Chocobo for the sumon materia of KoTR. (but I got the gold chocobo manualy xP).

You spelling and grammar hurt my eyes :P

  1. He goes on a trip to pray for his departed friends, not a trip with his wife
  2. You don't steal, you Morph.
  3. It's not Nibelheim, it's Kalm
  4. You don't need a gold chocobo to beat emerald or ruby weapon

its so much more rewarding getting what youve earned and finding all the treasures in the world is a bonus.......unless you were like me.......i had no strategy guide and thought there was even more stuff out there......went on for days and days trying to find more when i had it all already :lol:
 
Some people choose to defeat the Weapons without use of Knight of Round, some people take to using other methods, such as Bahamut Zero, so for those who seriously can't be assed to breed chocobo's then it is a fairly decent prize XP

depending on how strong again your characters are they also dont need armor so what is your point here lol :P grammar lover!:lol:

I made my point, whether you can see it or not is up to you. You will always have at least an armour, no matter how powerful. Not only does the armour increase your stats, it adds abilities and increases materia-slot capacity.

Grammar makes senctences make sense, it is how the words contained in a senctence are positioned (and spelled correctly) to show sense. Your post didn't contain much of this, so I made a joke. Get over it, I'm a grump. Call me a perfectionist if you do so desire.
