Who felt sorry for Sephiroth? I did as he was injected as a child against his will with that stuff from Professor Hojo.......Cloud said the famous line "The illusionary crime against Sephiroth" as really Sephiroth was not evil but somehow Hojo controlled them all in a way.....calling Sephiroth to Jenova and setting her free.....funny how all of them in the end were all on the same side......even it seemed Sephiroth at the end of the game called Cloud back to the lifestream to try to finish him off as he knew how evil he was finally at the end.....Hojo you should be ashamed

Sorry? He is the most badass person ever! If you feel sorry for him that ruins the coolness.

I understand what you're saying. That he could have led a totally different and peaceful life, away from getting wooped in the ass by Cloud later on in his life. Being dragged into a world of evil, and corruption, is hardly something you'd wish for an unborn child. So yes, I feel sympathetic, in a way, towards Sephiroth. His free will was essentially stolen from him, before he even knew he existed.

But like Vincent said, it'd ruin his image if he had people feeling sorry for him. :P

lol

Well I for one do feel sorry for Sephiroth, to an extent. I am a firm believer in the Sephiroth controlled Jenova theory, while a growing population believes that Jenova controlled Sephiroth. Sorry, different arguement. Anyways, I do harbor an extreme hatred towards Hojo though. I mean, he basicaly raped Lucrecia, injected Sephiroth with Jenova cells in the womb, tried to kill the last remaining Ancient and suceeded in killing her parents, performed horrible experiments on Cloud, Zach, and Vincent, and in the end thought that he was in the right. God, that pissed me off! I hated Hojo so much by the end of the game, that when I finally got to fight him, I healed him just so I could smack him around some more. Hojo was a terrible person, and deserved exactly what he got!!

professor hojo

Yes that is correct.....after all everyone was Hojos enemy.......there is a saying that keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer.....to an extent that is what everyone eventually did.....Avalanche was teamed up with the gang (i forget the name that rude elena tseng were working for) and they finally put their differences aside to stop Hojo and Sephiroth.....but if you really think about it.....even Sephiroth was to an extent trying to stop Hojo from killing the last Ancient.....why would Sephiroth leave a creature like that in the laboratory if his goal was not something diff than what hojo wanted? i like your theory on that it is pretty on the ball here:) and yes he should have died for what he did.....should have paid big as Hojo was the cause of everything

I mean, look at what happened when Sephiroth talked to Cloud about the members of SOLDIER who became monsters in the Nibelheim mako reactor. He realised he wasn't a "normal" member of SOLDIER and that he had this power for some special reason. But Sephiroth chose to follow his path and go down to use Jenova to his will. I feel sorry for him, but you shouldn't really feel sorry for the villains anyway.

"The illusionary crime against Sephiroth"

What I'd like to know is what that line means. Illusionary gives the impression of not being real and everyone knows that Hojo at the very least committed the crime of injecting Sephiroth with Jenova's cells before birth. How can this crime be "illusionary"? Perhaps they relate the whole idea of illusions, seeing as Jenova is so good at them...that the crime was an illusionary because the crimes was that Sephiroth lived a life of illusions forced upon by people like Hojo?

I don't remember who said that quote, but they were probably speaking from a standpoint where they didn't have the whole story. Remember, a lot of what we know from piecing different parts of the story together and playing the game thousands of times through , the characters themselves don't. They don't have the same perspective as us, and therefore cannot see all of what was going on. It also depends on who said this quote, so can you please tell us?

Well... he did have quite a sad past and was mislead by his father Hojo.
I do feel a little sorry for him as he knew his mother and was driven into madness as well as controlled by Jenova.

He just wanted to be with his mother, that was his main goal.

illusions are half truths at times

that line i bet meant that Cloud didnt really feel sorry for Sephiroth but was asking Sephiroth subconsiously why he did follow the path he did........as you said he didnt have to go down that road he chose but he did and now is at fault.....still though he is blaming Hojo for most of the cause which is why Vincent Valentine went after him.......he was just too evil to be kept alive.....at least he was an easy win lol :P

it was Cloud who said it........but you never know.....maybe it was Sephiroths control that made him say it as well........but seriously this story lacks an ending that makes total sense anyway.......why did they last show a picture of Aeris in the Lifestream? all that showed me was that the world was safe.......but didnt say what happened to anyone but Red XIII:wacko: like really what happened to Avalanche or cloud or cid? that is why they made a movie of it to show what happened i suppose and i still have to see the Advent Children movie:P

I'm gonna call you Aeris for short. Firstly, please stop double posting, it gets on the nerves of all members and moderators.

Secondly, I do not feel sorry for Sephiroth. Without this event, the story of Final Fantasy VII would end once that party left Midgar, seeing as the only leave Midgar to pursue Sephiroth. So, if Hojo was not the crazy psychopathic person he was, then Sephiroth as we know him would not exist. For that, I am grateful. On the other hand, if it wasn't Sephiroth we know that was injected, it would be another person, who wouldl take the role of Sephiroth and the results of the game woud be identical.

Finally, I suggest you watch AC, Aeris. It might finally provide you with the insights you are lacking concerning Sephiroth and parts of the main story. If not, I recommed playing through FFVII again to gain a perspective on things. Maybe play again in a years time, see how differently you look at things.

If I see aeris or anyone else double post again, I will be handing out warnings, as you are supposed to use the EDIT button not double post unless required to do so.

I feel sorry for Child!Sephiroth, but not for Adult!Sephiroth.

Child!Sephiroth must have had one heck of a horrible time...

While Adult!Sephiroth knew exactly what he was doing and how to do it. An enigmatic, sophisticated genius. xD
