Nul Ice and Fire glean are great against Shiva. If you're going in underleveled these two spells become crucial (it should be noted that her Diamond Dust attack deals non-elemental damage).

You should also consider bringing in some stopproof acc. for the fight seeing as her heavenly strike not only halves hp and mp but induces stop. I'd suggest beginning with a white mage and casting shell before leaving the healer on 'standby' while the others deal damage/cast buffs.

You'll have to forgive my lack of insight, it's been a long time since I played FFX-2 and my knowledge is a bit rusty. Good luck.

If your having problems with Shiva might I add that two other boss battles happen right afterwards. Anima and The (three) Magnus sisters. Could you give some info on what your level is? If I was you I would use a dark knight, a Alchemist, and a white/mage or berserker (which ever fits best, if you are real weak you will need another healer).
