Can any one tell me if final fantasy viii will work on a laptop and do I need or need to do anytrhing special?

I don't know if you can just put the game in. I'm pretty sure you can't.

The only way i know how to play it on a laptop is through the use of an emulator. But I'm not going to suggest that you use it, or suggest against using it.

If you're referring to the PS1 version of the game, you can't just pop it into your laptop and play it. There is a PC version of the game but I've heard it tends to be glitchy and/or not run on newer computers.

I forgot about the PC version. Yeah, I heard it doesn't work in a lot of people's laptops. I don't know if you install it, you probably do considering it is a game for the PC.

Sorry I can't be more help. Dx

Well, here are the specs for the PC version of FFVIII:
Hardware Requirements

System: PII 266 or equivalent
RAM:64 MB RAM
CD-ROM: 8X CD-ROM
Video Memory: 4 MB VRAM
Hard Drive Space: 400 MB
Sound Board: Yes
DirectX: DirectX v6.1

Recommended System Requirements
Video Memory: 16 MB VRAM

Unless you're running on a VERY old computer, you should be able to handle it.

It should be ok. I got the PC version working on my old Acer laptop and it worked fine
