Help with eidolons?

Hey guys,
sorry if this is posted in the wrong section...
I started playing FFIX not long ago, and I just got Eiko. I noticed that Eidolons show up under her battle menu, but not under Dagger's (Garnets)? Can anyone help me with with figuring out why this is?

you need to learn them, at the beginning you start of with them, but they get extracted by zorn and thorn for the queens personal use.

As such Garnet is left with none, she learns them like you learn abilities, normally by crystals, opaz and other gems

oh and yess this thread should be in the help booth but we all make mistakes, especially me lol
 
All Eidolons in IX are learned through Add-ons, more specifically the magical stones that appear at the top of said category in the equip menu. Opal for Shiva, Garnet for Bahamut, Topaz for Ifrit, Peridot for Ramuh etc.

These stones must be equipped until you have mastered the 'ability' to do so, which is signified by three golden stars on the relevant skill on the item.
