Help Help wanted at the Great Crystal

Ok I need some help getting through the Great Crystal for the second time (you know after you've already completed all the quests and come back for some stuff and to battle an Esper and the Omega Mark XII).

My first hurdle:
I've done this before (I completed the game and all the side-quests) but I cant remember how to get to the second save crystal in Kanbhru Pis. I'm stuck at A Vikaari Kanbhru Ra, trying to use Way Stone XX. According to the Piggyback guide it "Can be used after touching Way Stone X and Way stone IX in Dha Vikaari Dhebon Ra", but I just used Way Stone IX to get to X and I want to get to Dha Vikaari Dhebon Ra.

Hope I didn't confuse you too much, because I am very confused!

I've watched my friend go through the Great Crystal to find the Omega Mark XII without any trouble at all. It was hard for me to believe, because I still haven't fought it yet. I've literally spent nearly 4 hours trying to find each place to go and where it could possibly be (I used the room lighting as a hint as I've watched Youtube videos of people fighting it. It's not exactly too dark, but not too bright either.) . The problem is that if we were to go to a made up walkthrough for help, it would have to be word for word we'd look through it because the map for that place is nothing but a painting of a giant crystal. No separate fancy looking blobs or anything. It makes me want to throw my PS2 out the window sometimes. But yeah, explaining the process here wouldn't be any different than looking at an online walkthrough, unfortunately. Try looking here or here since both of the answers are in much detail, so you should be able look through them to find where you are and read from there. Hope it helps ~

I don't remember any of the names of the areas in the great crystal but I used a map on Gamefaqs to get me to where I needed to go. I would have been hopelessly lost otherwise. This is the map I used:

Now for my second problem. I know this is the best place to get the Zodiac Escutcheon shield, which I really want. But in the walkthrough i saw there was another shield that could be in the treasure chest, provided that you are wearing the Diamond Armlet, called 'Zodiac Shield'. What is this item? Is it powerful? I can't find it in the book nor on the Final Fantasy Wiki.

I think the other item in the chest is an armor. While its very good the Shield is better and the armor can be found else where. So if you want my advice, take the Zodiac Escutcheon and it will help out in a long run.

I know there's a 50/50 chance it contains a Brave Suit.
I'm wondering if they meant the Zodiac Escutcheon, as in: equip the Diamond armlet and theres a 100% certainty that you'll get this item.
