Anime Help finding an anime to watch

was wondering if anyone knows of any anime with like a cool female lead character that kick butts(sword wielding, gun slinging, or any other type of cool weapons), kind of like claymore, madlax, or noir. it would be great if the genre was action but having a little romance wouln'd be too bad too. don't really want an anime where the guy is the main character that has a cool female character in it ala outlaw star's suzuka cause you end up watching most episode about the dude with like a couple cool episode focusing on the cool female character. well thanks for the help

I'd suggest Burst Angel, Grenadier, Ghost in the Shell, Blood+, Revolutionary Girl Utena is a good one as well... Ergo Proxy, and Elfen Lied are all ones that come to mind... of these I've only seen Utena... but my boyfriend recommends the rest

I'd say To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. It's still airing though - episode 15 of around 24 episodes.
Misaka Mikoto doesn't have a kickass weapon, but she can do this, among other things:

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is the first anime that comes to mind when I think of a strong female protagonist. Motoko Kusanagi is, in my opinion, one of the best (and definetely the most complex) female leads of any anime.
Of course, if you wanted an entire harem of female protagonists, you could always go with Sailor Moon. Can't go wrong with a classic like that~

i highly recommend you to watch bleach,your going to be addicted,theres like over 200 episodes,you will get a lot of intresting and favorite characters.

The only anime that I can really think of that has a major kick ass female is Elfen Lied. It's an amazing anime.... and it's short. I haven't seen that many anime's, but Elfen Lied is definitely one that should be seen.

thanks for the suggestion. ive seen some of them like cardcaptor and sailor moon and bleach, ghost in a shell. ive heard about elfen lied and ergo proxy alot but haven't actually seen it. maybe ill go and fine one of those for now. or grenadier, never heard of it but it looks like a cool title

tell me how bleach is when you go further,you could either watch it in japanese or english,in english,its up to 167 and currently on hiatus now,i watch both but i recommend you japanese.

I think you might be interested in the anime, Slayers. It's a fantasy/comedy/action show staring the Bandit Killer/Dragon Spooker/Genius Sorceress, Lina Inverse! It's one of my favorite animes, and spans four anime seasons, a handful of movies, a couple manga series, and a light novel series (which is the original story). Good times.
