Tech Help: Drivers not working

The hard drive in my dad's laptop stopped working, so he switched it out with the hard drive in one of my old laptops. My hard drive has Windows 7 installed on it, and all the stuff I had on it before my old laptop crapped out. My dad's computer boots just fine with my hard drive in it, but all of the drivers aren't working. USB drives, the display adapters, and the Wi-Fi are not working. Is this because everything on this hard drive is treating my dad's computer as if it is my old computer? Is there a way to create a Windows 7 system disk image from the computer and just format the hard drive and reinstall windows?

without the original install image there nothing you can do, yes it is because windows is thinking it your old laptop, the only other option I could give you is find and install the drivers for your dad's laptop's motherboard

but really, it not a good idea to take a hard drive from one pc to another without wiping it and reinstalling windows, as you may also come across windows licensing issues saying that windows isn't genuine

So, wiping it and reinstalling windows is still an option in this case? :hmmm:
 
If I were to uninstall, say, one of the USB drivers, would I be able to reinstall it later?
 
Yes a windows reinstall would work.... as long as it the windows for your dad's laptop :) also you May uninstall your dad's usb driver and try installing it :) that would work as well :)
