Ok, so FFVIII is the FF game that I've always put off playing, I played it a bit years ago and only got to the end of disc 1 and gave up on it. After recently finding my old PS1 copy of it I decided to get it finished this time.

However I've hit a snag which I hope somebody can give me some advice on.

My problem is with the Student ID number from the Tomb of the Unknown King, I found it easily enough but I didn't write it down, and after saving my game once I was out of the tomb, I didn't go back to it for a couple of days. And now I can't remember what the ID was and I've tried going back but the sword with the ID on is no longer there.

Is there anyway I can find out what the randomly generated ID is for my game, or am I gonna have to restart the game over as I've only one save game currently.

Are you sure you maybe didn't turn in the ID already? Or are you sure your walking to the right screen cause it should be 2-3 screens in and right at the beginning. I always was able to enter and exit to see the ID again.
 
Oh god thank you. I could have sworn it was in the first room as soon as you enter the tomb and didn't even think about going further. I've been googling like crazy about being able to get the ID again, but I've not been able to find anything. I'll head further into the tomb and take a better look. It's always something really simple. :D
 
It shouldn't disappear. Did you go further Into the tomb? It might be worth your while exploring.
 
Yeah it's still in the "beginning" of the tomb, the guy will be on your right side of the screen. However I would strongly advise exploring the whole tomb to get a nice extra GF. Just keep going right and you'll get everything ya need for the most part. By the time you get back to the beginning just make a left and do the boss fight there for said GF and get the number on your way out. The two fights you'll have in there for the GF(1st fight is one of the bosses and he runs away) you get some nice magic to draw life, or full-life and float. You will also get their cards and if you play TT at all they can be useful early game.
 
Hehe, I already got the Brothers. :) I spent a long while levelling in the tomb, and then didn't play for a day or two which is how I forgot the code.
