I was if anyone ever played(or heard) about a game called "Fatal Frame"( also known as "Zero")? Here's a cutscene of the beginning of Fatal Frame 2.

I'm not too keen on the survival horror genre, but I adore this series!
So what about you guys?

Great game.

My sister is obsessed with the series, scares the hell out of me when she played it :D

I played the first game, briefly. It freaked me out, so I couldnt complete it. I didnt think it was that popular, but its a series now.

It was called Project Zero over here, and yes I played and loved the first one. Still haven't completed it though...

It was the only horror game I ever bought really, and it was the scariest game I have in my collection. The atmosphere this game created was simply incredible.. Even if there were no ghosts that could harm you around, you kept hearing noises, and seeing shades of murdered people out of the corner of your eye. I was quite spooked, but I loved it all the same.

I'm glad I own the first game, and I do intend to go back to it one day. I just need to brace myself. I mean I'm ok with things leaping out and going "raaarrrgh! :vamp:", but psychological horror is a different thing altogether. :D (Though I guess there is an element of "rraaaarrgh! :vamp:" in this too)

That said, I love it for that, and I don't seem to buy any "raaarghh!!! :vamp:" horror games, and would prefer this type of game.

I never actually understood why the PAL release of the games called it Project Zero and I do prefer the name Fatal Frame over it. I have the first game as well. I really haven't played it much although my brother has got quite far into it a couple of years ago.

It's a very well made horror franchise. Other survival horrors have you blasting zombies with machine guns (is that supposed to be really frightening?) nowadays, but the Fatal Frame/Project Zero games evoke psychological horror in a better and different way.

It does feel very genuine. As Dan said, they make the atmosphere just right for this kind of game. Every corner is a cringeworthy journey to make even though I'm only the player and not the character herself. I love the fact that Miku is a vulnerable girl trapped in a horrifying environment. The player in a way shares her vulnerability.

I've heard of it, and saw some videos. Looks pretty freaky, and the kind of game where you'll get sucked into the atmosphere so much that you'll piss your pants every time something happens.

I want to play at least one of them eventually.
