Has any anyone noticed something?

Hahaha.

Well, Basch wasn't even in the game after a certain point anyways.

I think it was more Balthier and Ashe that had sparked a flame.

Yes, Balthier and Ashe definitely had something going on. The problem is that it never went anywhere and it was mostly ignored except for a few cut scenes.

But I think Basch and Ashe really best fit the idea of chivalry and courtly love that I felt was appropriate to Ashe's character.

Ashe did hate Basch in the beginning, but only due to her belief that he was a traitor and her father's murderer. After finding out that her hate for him was unfounded, since Gabranth was the true murderer, I feel like she would at least not hate him outright.

She'll definitely have her reservations toward him after thinking for a year that he caused her downfall, but I don't think she continued hating him, since it wasn't true.

The pictures really were fooling. lol. I seen Ashe as a very happy girl that had feelings for Vaan. lol. So wrong.

Balthier and Fran would've been a totally weird love couple.

i missed the love story.....i saw afew tender moments between balthier and fran right near the end but other than that.........bring back the love people!!!

oddly, i'm quite glad it didn't have a love story involved in it.
even if i like a good romance, and i am in the year of the cat fan club (don't ask) but, it seems almost everything has a love story in it >_>
the lack of love interest doesn't bother me at all

If anything there is something going on with Balthier and Fran and sooner or later there would be something between Vaan and Penelo:P

The lack of a romance between the main characters was great. It let the story be more about the story and not the characters feeling for each other. I agree that there could have been one in there somewhere and it would have really hurt the story as long as it was kept the same, but without it the game does just fine.

I wish there was a love story. But the lack of one didnt make it a horrid game. IT was just confusing.

Final Fantasy puts you in mind of a love story. So you see Rex and you think ok this guy will be important. Then he dies. Oh damn. So then you see this Vaan dude. Then you meet Penello. Ohhh this is the main couple your tell yourself. Then you meet Bathier and Fran....Who are these ppl? Then you meet Ashe. Vaan catches her and they have that look. But then she turns out to be a real Bishy girl. But! Its not over. You go to prison and meet Basch. Ok maybe Final Fantasy will be open and make it a gay relationship.....WRONG AGAIN.

It puts you on a emotion rollercoaster you just want to get of, but can't because you have to see what happens. Then in the end you see....there is no love story. So you end up wasting hours on something you thought was in the game but isnt.

I love your story, Dae. xD. Made me giggle.

Anywho, the story didn't have love, oh well. It didn't make the game horrible at all. Well, the story was not ALL there anyways, but meh. I coped with it. =).

Not having love is kinda a break from the traditional "omg, she is so clingy" or "Ugh. too much love" and things.

i just think it was lacking a story altogether........but i WAS waiting for something to develop with someone, ANYONE!! I felt somewhat gipped by the end, i mean they could have warned me.......

So is that what FF is to some people? Waiting for some love story to pop up? Real love is better, more realistic. Hurts more like...

I just think it's a nice addition, funnily enough though, i don't like romantic films *pass the sick bucket* I think i'v just come to expect it in FF XD and love in RL sucks...or at least my experience of it!! lol

It's mainly between Vaan and Penelo, at least in my opinion. I don't really know much about the game, though. I'm only about 18 hours into the game.

I am a huge fan of FFX and Tidus and Yuna is probably one of the best love stories I know. I was looking forward to the depth that a good love story adds to the game, but the lack of it didn't really matter that much. Just somewhat dissapointing. Oh well, there's always XIII! : )

I don't know, FFXIII looks pretty grim as it is. Just take one look at that Lightning lass and it's hard to see if she'll end up with someone.

I think the love story is on Balthier and Fran. In the ridorana tower place...

After you defeat Cid and the place is going mental, Fran collapses and Balthier is like "hurry up". she's says "just go without me. sky pirates fly, isn;t that waht you do?" and balthier says "Well i guess you'de better hang on then" all the while looking at each other in that kinda way
