I keep hearing that FFI and FFV are sooooo hard, but I haven't played either so I wouldn't know (or at least I haven't played enough of the game to know anything about it). But hey, there might even be an FF even harder than those two. What do you guys think, which FF do you think is the hardest?

I can't say that 5 is hard, because I had a relatively chill time with it. Bartz had a ridiculous attack level, I had Krile's magic stat set to kill, and Faris was a very solid addition to my team as well. I didn't run into extraordinary trouble throughout this game. Maybe it was the high encounter rate that bothered some? But I took stuff like that in stride. I wouldn't say it was easy, but it wasn't as hard as some make it out to be, I think.

As for a "hardest", I can't really say. A lot of the later releases allow you certain options to make the games a lot more "comfortable".

I think each of them have their incredibly tough moments though, so I can't really choose one.

I think it is easily FFI, especially the NES original, for obvious reasons. Even with lots of grinding, money is tight, you don't have much customisability, and dungeons are HARD.

I haven't played an awful lot of FFII, which is the only one I haven't played much of. FFIV has some very hard bosses too, but doesn't come close to FFI.

I thought FFII was hard. The reason being only because of the bosses and the fact of the lvling and magic system was fail. Honestly for that game each of the bosses were trouble. I mean you had to have some good strategic skills to get past them especially the Thunder Gigas. Dx

It has to be Final Fantasy I or II, I've never play them on the NES, although I've heard they're awfully hard, but the PSP versions are mainly difficult because of dungeons and the fact I don't think you can save in them or something like that, so you have to work your way through them >_> FFII is awful for encounters, it's the only FF game I've played that the power difference between your character and the enemy is stupidly high for such early on in the game /twitches

definatly 1 or 2,1 had some good elements, but is only easy if you level up the right job until they go up a class,in 2,you cant give all the same weapon, the mistake i made, but i gave maria a bow the second time around and it was alot easier,as if you giver her a sword or axe,or other melee weapon, she would constantly miss

FFV ¬_¬

I just couldn't kill the bosses without cheating and looking online, I had such a mare with this game it was ridiculous

FFII I got about half an hour in before I gave up so I can't comment on that

IV is also hard, but a little bit of extra grinding per dungeon and it wasnt all that bad, certainly no walk in the park mind .... but nothing compares to V. All them stupid shitting MAGE jobs, the whole thing just had me grinding my teeth from start too finish ¬¬

FFI wasn't TOO bad it was all about just making sure you had enough money for your idiot mages

i actually found iv pretty easy,5 was hard because bartz character did have good stats, and i admit i had to use the maxed out attack cheat just to beat the game, but it was good,so,i guess, but 2 wwas horridly hard

Lol? I gave her a Lance/Spear and she was just fine warrior...
Most of the game she was even stronger than Firion (who had a sword)

IMO FFI (NES) is the hardest so far (haven't played FFV and FFVI yet) and it'll probably stay the hardest because:

1) After finishing it, I feel like any other FF is quite easy.
Even FFII (NES) was a lot easier. So maybe even if I'll really find harder FF, it won't feel harder because FFI was a KILLER when I played it, as I only played easy FFs before.

2) It is very old and quite limited in many ways. So there are no many other things to do other than training... A LOT of training
