when do u think the "in game" graphics will finally catch up with advent children....i no ff13 is a step in the right diredction but its still not seamless.....all replies app!

It will take a few more years, probably the next generation of consoles.
For a game to have graphics like todays CG movies, it would take a very, very good system to play it smoothly.
Systems that aren't really available now. Even with the Cell processor that the PS3 has, the rest of the hardware would probably struggle. And with all the details of the images, it would take up a massive amount of space. Some background images can be a few MB's in size, so multiply that by the scenery, towns, buildings, and everything else, the amount of space would be crazy.
So try not to expect anything until the next-gen consoles are out, which will be about 3 years.

That would be awesome if they have graphics in the "in-game" like Advent Children. But like they said, several more years, definitely. It's time consuming and will indeed take a lot of space.

valid point firez but in my defence m8 iv got a 360, had it a year or so an the change in graphics in just that small space of time is immence...check out gears of war TRUST ME.
also theve future proofed the bloody thing, what i mean is in the near future ull be able to download graphics upgrades an such through a kind of "smart chip" via xbox live...cool eh? btw you will soon be able 2 download a 1080p upgrade also via xbox live 4 the 360 so it will be FULL hi def.
but what really pisses me off is ive only had my 42in hi-def hitachi 4 6 months an Althougt the thing can handle 1080p x 1080p and get this..."swivels" it it now obsolete due to the up and coming 1980p x at least 1380p lcd newbies also panasonic have just released the first FULL 3D lcd.......and u dont even have to wear the stupid trekki shades lol

FFXIII doesn't have graphics anywhere near FF AC.
Right now, there is no game on the planet that has actual gameplay with graphics like the latest CG movies. It is just to time consuming and drains a system so bad, that it will take a while before the hardware will be good enough to run a game with that kind of graphics.
