2D Umineko Fighting Game Coming to Xbox 360

More 2D fighting on the Xbox 360!

Alchemist is readying an Xbox 360 port of Ougon Musoukyoku (Golden Fantasia), a 2D PC fighter. The Xbox 360 version will be titled Ougon Musoukyoku X.

The original Ougon Musoukyoku was released by 07th Expansion on the PC in December 2010. It features characters from the Umineko no Naku Koro visual novel series in 2D tag fights. You can read a gameplay summary in the game's a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Cgon_Mus%C5%8Dkyoku>Wikipedia entry.

Famitsu.com has a first look at the Xbox 360 version, which is being based off the latest version of the PC release. Alchemist is adding three new characters for the 360: Rosa Ushiromiya, George Ushiromiya and Jessica Ushiromiya. The game will also have new scenarios and endings, and Xbox Live support of some form.

A release is set for Summer. Check out Famitsu.com for additional screens.

Lovely Xbox 360 2D Fighter Golden Fantasia Gets Icon Packs

First thing's first... my new favorite fighting game screenshot:

Here are some other sweet screens, although the lack of food carts keeps them from number one.

The reason I'm suddenly filling this site with screenshots from the Xbox 360 version of 2D dojin fighter Ogon Musokyoku, aka Golden Fantasia, is because Alchemist has announced some pre-release download content for the game.

A series of icon packs will be available for the game starting today and continuing every week through June 7. Each pack focuses on a different character and costs 80 yen.

Alchemist is also readying custom themes, but has yet to share release information or pricing. As for the game off which all the DLC is based, a release is still set for some undisclosed point during the summer.

A Look at Golden Fantasia's Touch Systems

Ougon Musoukyoku X is an upcoming Xbox 360 tag-based fighter where you fight as a team of two. Today's update on the game at the official site concerns the "Touch System", which is used for switching to your partner character.

There are different types of touches depending on the timing.
Normal Touch

Press the touch button at normal times.

Attack Touch

Press the touch button during an attack. Your partner will continue your combo.

Guard Touch

Press the touch button while guarding. This depletes your partner's SP gauge.

Damage Touch

Press the touch button while incurring damage. This depletes two off your partner's SP gauge.

Assault Touch

Press down, forward and the Touch Button. This drains two off your partner's SP gauge.

Ougon Musou Kyoku X’s Lucifer Has Some Impressive Combos, Too

Ougon Musou Kyoku X has you swap between two characters in tag-team battles. In the game, this system is called a “Touch”. You can perform different kinds of Touches, like normal Touches, Attack Touches (switch during an attack), Guard Touches and so on. Depending on how a Touch is used, they deplete your Touch Gauge.

This is true for every character but Lucifer, whose unique ability — each character has one — is to be able to use an Attack Touch a single time, even if her Touch Gauge isn’t full. If it is full, she’ll be able to use an Attack Touch once without depleting it.

You can watch a quick rundown of some of Lucifer’s combos above. She also has a teleportation technique called “Magic Circle,” which you can see in the video above. And in case you missed it, here’s a similar video for Battler from last week.
