Going Going Gone

I'm kinda scared about it. I'm applying this year, and going to Uni next year if I get in. I've found 3 places I'd like, but I need to find 2 more. >.< It looks like I could be living quite far away, but I'll manage (I hope.).

I don't know how much I'll miss home and my own bed. I know I'll miss my cats a lot, and the food my mum cooks! Will I miss my parents? I dunno. It might be nice to feel more free. (I really need to start driving.)

I guess it'll be a good experience, and I hope to meet a lot of people when I go there. If I get to go to the Uni that's my first choice, I'll be quite happy! Even though it's the furthest away. =] I don't exactly want to be far far away, but the area looks quite nice and the course looks so much fun. I'm gonna do English and Creative Writing.

I am a little scared about having a room-mate, especially since I've always been an only child. I won't be used to it, but so long as I'm sharing a room with a nice person, it'll be okay, but there are some nasty people out there. >.< I'll have to wait 'til I get there though.

Wow... Less than a year. Daunting.

Oh good, I might wanna look into that. Sounds perfect for an introvert like myself who doesn't want too much noise and stuff.

Having a roomie can sometimes be a hassle, but it really is a lot of fun. And frankly, you'll probably be having a roommate when you get an apartment after college, so you might as well get used to it. And as for if you want a family... roommates who you're stuck with for life.

And if your college has a roommate matching program, they're likely to match you in pretty well. I've got three roommates right now and it's awesome.

If you consider yourself an introvert, you'll eventually be thankful for roommates. They're your first new college friends and a good starting point for a new social network beyond your high school. Only super-social people should be in single room, because they don't need roommates to help kick-start their social life; an introvert in a single room would just be way too lonely, and no matter how much you think you can cope with being alone, you have to realize that you are innately a social animal.
