i just watched this video and noticed gilgamesh really looks a lot like yojimbo and his dog/wolf looks kinda like daigoro i think that yojimbo was gilgamesh's appearence in FFX and FFX-2 he really looks like gilgamesh on FFXII did anyone else notice this?also he has brotherhood in FFXII it also said in the description that he travels the dimentions with his dog/wolf
mayby he got the swords from every game he appeared in if so then he must have appeared in FFX as yojimbo.theres also the fact that in FFIX he didnt use his real name so mayby he did the same in FFX?

They do this to try to get fresh ideas into the mix when it comes to Final Fantasy games. Notice in FFXII the first Esper you receive looks like every other single Ifrit, but Squenix switched it up a bit in order to get some freshness into the gameplay.

Also, in FFIX the Gilgamesh uses his alias as a hideout or something to hide from a crime he committed from what I remember. He eventually reveals it to Zidane and Co. when Zidane proves himself "worthy".

Yojimbo represents typical Gilgamesh-like character in FFX, but he is more of an assassin-for-hire in the game which is also what the name "Yojimbo" means in Japanese. He is his own character in ways, but he can be likened to a similar Gilgamesh but he does not have 4+ arms like a typical Gilgamesh; Yojimbo only has 2.
 
I think Yojimbo was more an Odin type character than he was Gilgamesh. That said he was missed in FFX, but came back with a vengence in XII.
 
Remember Gilgamesh is a comic relief while Yojimbo is serious and quiet warrior. And maybe they didn´t want to use Gilgamesh since he was in IX and X is the first PS2 FF-game.
 
you could summon him in ffviii well...sort of... mayby he couldve been"hiding"his arms i mean he does wear that big cloak
 
Actually I think they were keepin the Summons/Aeons/Espers crap the same so the player could recognize it and enjoy playin it.
