I'm in a bit of a rut in terms of my GFX skills, which I think have deteriorated over the past year. I can't find myself being creative anymore and what little inspiration I had I guess has left me. I'll open Photoshop, work on something, then close it irritatedly because I didn't think the piece was up to standard. The effects I used to do so easily, no longer a walk in the park. I guess you could say I hate it. ;D

I started out really crap as most people do and just as I started to close in on getting better and more interested I lost interest all of a sudden.

I was really into icon making and then one day it felt like I was forcing myself to keep up with AOTW's and such.

I think the last Graphics Challenge we had it felt like a huge chore just to make something. I wasn't too enthused and wondered why I even bothered anymore.

Everything in photoshop seemed foreign and I didn't remember hardly anything I used to.

A lot of things have lost my interest this last year it would seem. >.<
 
I've felt myself in the same boat. I've found it really difficult to get my old skill back. I've forgotten a lot of the techniques I used to do and I've been trying to rely on others feedbacks to try to get it right but for some reason it's just not working. I used to go to the extreme when I tried something new on a sig and now I just can't get back to that.

I've tried that with my last sig. I went to the extreme with it and even though people didn't like it, I did a lot of crazy new things that really made me proud. Not really the way the sig turned out, but it made me realize that I can get my old edge back
 
I know, it just sucks. I tried making another crest last night and it just turned out to be utter crap. :sad3: It's not as polished or as appealing as the LP tags I used to make years ago and I don't know what I"m doing wrong but maybe my eyes are just not as good at visualizing things anymore in photoshop.
 
rofl your eyes arent any worse than they were before.
You need to get some ideas flowing, look at sigs by other people.
go join gfxresource.com and just browse posts looking at other peoples sigs, i think youl comeaway with many ideas. And if not go by the resource section and pick up something hot :ryan:

But I honestly can't be arsed to do some posting around there at the moment. Damn post count requirement! I'm starting to feel like an RPG-newb-hound around here.

When I do, I will definitely raid the resource section.

But what I guess I"m saying is my sig. It's not all the great even though I spent like 5 hours on it. :sad3:
 
is that why i cant get into the vector section? bastards :hmph:
it never used to be that way. in that case go join sigresource, its practically the same site but without the requirements. gfxresource just looks cooler.
lol no point moaning about it though jay, tbh i think its awesome. i cant make those things so im quite jealous.
