Garnet

Admitted...Garnet is a relatively week character, and her trance is virtually useless compared to Eiko's. Eiko does have some very good magic and summons compared to garnet too.

But I still keep Garnet in my lineup instead of Eiko every time I play. She may not be strong or efficient with trance, but she's very useful with typical spells like cure and protect.

Useless trance? COMPARE TO EIKO'S?

Garnet's Trance causes extra damage for NO MP.

With Eiko's trance you can use 1 more spell in the same turn with no MP reduction. If you mean you can cast 2 Curagas, well, you don't really need that much healing. Especially by the end game (Auto-Regen takes care of most of the healing anyway).

Really, to tell you the truth, I find everybody's trance useless except for Zidane, Rusty, and Vivi.

If you find vivi's trance useful but eiko's not then I think something is wrong =/

As double blk magic or dlb white magic (holy) is quite the same assuming holy should do 9999 dmg.

Holy is an MP drainer. And only hits one target. Besides, when you first get Eiko she doesn't know Holy. Also, Holy is elemental. Meteor and Flare aren't. IIRC Meteor hit all enemies, right?

yes Meteor does hit all enemies, but Vivi's somewhat powerful trance isn't what's on debate here. Back on topic i found very little use for either eiko or garnet

So, I take it that until you learned Auto-Regen you survived with Hi-Potions and Tents only?

hardly any enemies drain holy magic, a lot more are weak against it. And Eiko has enough MP in storage to finish the fight off before it reaches 0 ;). True Vivi's dbl blk mag is better at attacking then the white one but Eiko can also heal with it.

Full-Life and Holy just make Eiko a way better char than garnet anyday.

But then again, as I've already said, that much healing isn't necessary. At all. Especially by the end of the game Garnet is much better. Why? Auto-Regen+Arc. By the time the animation is over you are bound to have healed back to full. With other summons, you'll have gained at least 1000 HP with full animation. Now, couple that with Garnet's Trance (full animation of summoning+extra short animation summoning for no MP). It's basically damage and healing in one pack, and with her Trance you get FREE damage AND healing. Eiko can't get anywhere near there.

As for before you get Auto-Regen... You do NOT need the healing at all. I beat the game when I was, dunno, 11 years old? Been a long time. And I never used Eiko safe for Kuja's Castle (and if there's any other part where you are forced to use her).
