The following Youtube Videos comprise a hilarious video review by SpoonyOne. For those who loved the game, or hated the game...but have a good sense of humor and are not easily offended by cursing or suggestive language, then these reviews are for you.

Just keep in mind, that some of the comments in these videos can be offensive, and there is a lot of cussing and swearing. The videos were made in good fun, and I think this guy is hilarious, so hopefully you guys like these. =)

Anyway, yeah, I've seen them. I've got to say, the first two parts are a bit too heavy on the gay jokes for my taste. You know, as opposed to mocking the actual content of the game, he goes straight for "he/she/it/this is homosexual". It just seems too...easy, I guess. I groaned more than I actually laughed. The one where he switches gears and reviews Final Fantasy VII was also a little on the predictable side. Really, it was just the same flawed arguments VII Haters have been making for years. However, I will say that the rest of the videos are hilarious. It really picks up around the time he actually begins taking shots at the game's storyline. It's nice to see somebody pick apart FFVIII and point out its flaws (however obvious they may be), and he, overall, does a pretty good job. And I have to say, he makes some decent points, too, especially when it comes to the Timber mission...

Come to think of it, the FFVIII world seems to have the most incompetent military minds in the history of the universe. Okay, so the President is being guarded by two normal men- two standard foot soldiers- and you've got on your side three highly trained combat specialists, each one wielding an arsenal that includes fire balls, lightning bolts, icicle spears, and miscellaneous large explosions. Any one of these soldiers is capable of effortlessly slaughtering large numbers of foot soldiers en mass, and you decide to come up with a needlessly complex plan of uncoupling the cars and sneaking in to assassinate the president? Of course, this doesn't exactly go according to plan, either, considering the president had the foresight to replace himself with a zombie double. And don't even get me started on the plan to assassinate the sorceress. I hope he at least makes it to that part of the story.

But yeah. Funny stuff, for the most part.

Just saw the first movie.. and I have 2 things to say.
First: if you dislike drawing, why not refine your magic from items.
Second: The movies of the GF attacking are not long enough because of boost.

In the second movie he just complains some more about magic drawing.
Weird guy. Funny though.

Refining Magic from items is almost as tedious as Drawing them from monsters. You pretty much have to play Triple Triad to get any decent number of items to refine, or even any items worth refining at all, for that matter. When people say there are other methods of obtaining Magic aside from Drawing for several minutes, they fail to take into account that refining items takes just about as long. Let's assume that every card you get refines into an item, which, in turn, refines into 20 Magic spells (and even this is being EXTREMELY generous; some items require you to get multiple cards). Let's also assume that you get one card per victory, which is the case under most circumstances. That's five games of Triple Triad. Let's say each one takes a minute and you don't lose any of them-- and even that's being generous, considering you won't have many good cards at the beginning of the game. That's a total of five minutes to equip one of your three active PCs with a single spell; fifteen minutes to get 100 of that spell onto all three of your characters. This is the bare minimum amount of effort. Most decent spells require you to spend MORE time playing Triple Triad for items.

Not to attack you or anything, I'm just saying that Triple Triad...really isn't much more effective or less tedious than Drawing.

True True, but at least you won't have to worry about getting your ass kicked while getting the magic. Plus I like Triple Triad.

Yes, as far as mini-games go, Triple Triad wasn't bad at all, and one or two games every now and again would certainly be tolerable. However, if you're not into the idea of drawing Magic from monsters, you'll have to play literally dozens of games to outfit your characters with some decent magic. It's around this time that the once-catchy and lighthearted song that plays during Triple Triad becomes far less enjoyable and more reminiscent of a thousand poisoned knives raining into your ears in a full-on frontal assault on your eardrums. It's a bit excessive, in other words, and just as time-consuming as drawing from monsters, anyway. So, basically, you either spend fifteen minutes drawing from monsters or you spend fifteen minutes playing a card game. It's fine that you enjoy it- I like a good game of Triple Triad, too, though I really don't think it's all that unreasonable to assume that there are those out there who aren't willing to sit through dozens of games just so that their characters will stand a fighting chance. But I think my point got lost somewhere in the rambling. I guess what I'm saying is that you can't really defend FFVIII by saying "But there are other ways to get magic" when those alternative methods are just as tedious as Drawing.

Besides, I'm...not really sure you'd ever have to worry about getting your ass kicked by the monsters. The first areas of this game are pretty easy to survive in. By that logic, you could also lose a game of Triple Triad, thus eliminating all the progress you made.
