I think that too many horses are in captivity. (I'm an animal lover) I saw this cartoon once called "Spirit" and it opened my eyes... What do you think?

I don't think it's wrong, personally.
I think that if we release 'domesticated' horses, they wouldn't know how to survive in the wild.

Sure it may seem wrong, but what we are actually doing is helping their species survive by taking care of them.
Unless of course, we abuse them and mistreat them.

Well, it depends on how you mean 'captivity'? Are you meaning that horses are kept in zoos? because that's my definition of captivity.
I'm assuming that you mean as race horses and pets though, so I'll go from that point there. Personally, it doesn't bother me. There are no areas really suitable for horses to be allowed to roam free, and generally they have a better quality of life in 'captivity' (for want of a better word).

One TV show made you want to free horses? My mum and I owned our own horses some years ago and they were treated like royality. They were acred for, groomed, ran free in the padocks and fields. They didnt need to be released into the wild, as there was no need and there is no wild for them to roam in. There are possibly more roads and motorways and fields now then ever before, so they are safer where they are.

Nah, IMO there's nothing wrong with tamed horses. The "Freedom for the Horses" campaign is highly overrated.

Hoses have been domesticated almost as long as dogs have. You want to try and change thousands of years of horses and humans history? Why? Many of the breeds of horses that are around now wouldn't even have existed if it weren't for humans breeding them, just like dogs, for a particular trait or ability. As with any other domesticated animal I disagree with cruelty, but only a very small portion of the human race is knowingly and maliciously cruel. The vast majority of horses are treated with a huge amount of love.

I personally think it's kinda silly to just pick out horses. What about dogs and cats and hamsters while we're at it? And what about the cows and chickens that don't even get room to roam around and are abused their whole lives and then eaten?

This is what forming your opinions based on watching a TV show or movie will do to you. Think about the broader scope of things.

Well horses get better treatment than human prisoners or get fed better than people in 3rd world countries so nah, I think theyre fine in "captivity"

If I was a horse i'd wanna be captive... wouldnt have to find food, get groomed... get to stay in a cozy stable and ah get ridden... Horses have the life
