Ok, My old topic got archived, and it might as well as that thread was pathetic ^^

Im a 3D artist, and a decent one even in my own eyes.
I do a few request here and there, though I mostly do things for the fun of it.
there were a drought of around a year or so where I did almost nothing, though in the meantime I did loaf around a few tutorials as well as update my 3D program to a much better version.

So, without further adieu, lets start the showcase.

Here is sole old stuff, before the drought.
-Sword of light A request I got some time ago.
-Axion Also a request
-Sun Sword This was a time trail, that later became the weapon of one of my RP characters.
-Black Jack This scyte was a request as well.
-Morning Star this was just something I suddenly wanted to make, since a fellow 3D'er made one, mine won the unofficial 'who's is better' ^^
-Water Staff this is the weapon I made for Seth, one of my RP characters
-Shock Sword Another one for a RP character of Mine. This is for Toron Lijis
-Keyblade Made for practice in the beginning.
-Aurons Masamune (FFX) This was the 2nd "fan art" that I made in 3D.
-Sword Whip Another request. Yes, it was based on Ivy's sword from Soul calibur.
-Felldoh's spear. Hera requested this some time ago, it is based on a drawing that he made, so it is not mine alone. I don't think it is finished, but it is decent at least.


Now, here is my latest work that I have mostly made during the last 2 weeks.

-Hakumei [Japanese: Twilight] This sword has a slight purple tinted blade, it was originally a sword I made in plain text for my samurai character, though I started usign it for random chars all around, so I decided to make it. I really like how it turned out. The sword have no powers or anything, it is a plain sword with a colored blade.

-T-Virus canister. A random thing I made just to make it, I consider it a scrap at my DeviantArt as it is far from as refined as the other ones.

-Shenorai's Flyssas. This was something I made on a whim as I felt like it, I really like Shen's character so it just fit. They were made based on measurements and detailing in Shenorai Eterna's bio. Quick explanation is that they are conjured using spirit powah, and can be dispanded upon wil, hence the lack of any scabbards/sheaths.

-Iwate. This was my first real request after getting back into 3D. It is the ring of a fellow RP'er's character Azaco Whaylen.
To quote what the ring does from his profile.

The ring allows the person using it to encase the hand the ring is on in diamond. It only lasts for an hour at most.
If one focuses, one can fire spikes from it that have a deadly tip, though this will drain the active time.

The second activation method, allows one to fire off a blast of black fire. This fire sticks to any skin burning it until the bone shows. Though this can only be used once a day at most.

-Spaceball. Same person requested this for a story he is making, it is still in the very beginnings but it looks interesting.

-Gemino Refero [Latin: Double Echo] For the ones of you that know Alumar, you will know the Echo Ring. Though as you then also will know the old 3D I made for that ring sucked big-time so a reinvention of the exact ring was in need.


All of the new ones, except the Spaceball, are also featured at my DeviantArt.
So, yeah, that is what new things I have lately.

They are absolutely gorgeous! And the updated Gemino Refero does indeed look a hell of a lot better! Not that your previous work was bad, just that you can see the improvement you've made!

Did you take any classes for this sort of thing? Or is it all self taught?

Everything is self taught, off course I did loaf through a few online tutorials, though I would say that 60% is completely self taught, using trial & error.
Which is why Im still struggling slightly with the whole engraving thing ^^

Gargling Spaceballs!
It's been a while since this thing has been updated..
Well then, lets spam this post a little, shall we?

Since the last time I have made a few things, some posted on my DA some not. So lets list them alongside a description like last time ^^

Vengence - This was made as a request at a forum I RP'ed at for a while after my leave from FFF, I followed a RP'er I like and ended up taking requests in return for art trades and the practice that follows a request. I wont bother explaining the details but it came out quite well and everyone loved it at the forum.

Spiderbiter - These are fun, they are AI-controlled spider-bots that stalk you and basically act as annoying as hell shurikens (ninja throwing-stars), if they hit you they latch on and keep biting you, should they miss they will keep chasing you and in the end gnaw on. Also something fun is that when I showed the creator the ALPHA image she was like "This is it? Is this the level of your skill..." type answer, Im glad I showed her wrong after the real thing was done.

Belial's deletion key - Same deal as Vengence, I won't explain the details but this was made for the same forum, which was made for a bigshot, its even featured in the 'featured art' amongst like a thousand images; it strokes my ego to say the least.

Sun Artifact - this spawned as an altered effect of a Crystal Ball experiment where I made it so that either parts of the reflection, or the thing itself, was not seen but seen in the 'other'. I liked the experiment and though both looks rather 'meh', it taught me how to make fog and interesting glowy-looks.

Spiral Staff - This started as a staff idea for a summoner char of mine, though in time it ended up as the Foci of my barrier mage. I find it funny to show people where the Inspiration for the staff (yes, that is me) came from. ^^

Ausus - This is the only gun I have 3D'ed so far, the details behind it is posted at my DA and I realize that I have been lazy as this is actually completed, I might update the DA later with it.

Axythe - Request at the same forum, this was the first time I ever used different textures signaling different levels of wear&tear, though the orignal image she wanted looks like this due to a faux transparency look, I slapped on a background for DA.

Uramasa - This was a weapon designed by the dude that pulled me to that other forum, I had promised him a 3D for a while so when he actually got it made after like a few months of poking, he deserved some extra effort. 7 hours of work later (testrenders not counted) this was the result.

the Devastator - this was requested by our own ElvenAngel, its for one of the main characters of her novell; the details I'm giving away is that you will read about it in said novel, and the flavor text she has written up for it here. This took for freaking ever to make, as its the only 3D-request I have done so far that has a proper scene and not just slapped on some background to make it look shiny. A lot of back and forth was used and the end result, though a tad foggy for my tastes, is in her words ""This is seriously how the sword looks in my mind when I describe the scene in the novel where my character Axel first comes upon this bad boy. "" This makes me happy.

Seth's gem - For those of you that know this RP char of mine should also remember the old gem-form he had, which sucked.. He is a water elemental, so I felt that the jagged gem did not give off the proper "feel" to his status. Also I made a quick and dirty animation on how the eye looks around, which is said to be creepy but awesome.

Those are the good things since last time, there are also those small things.
-Unnamed Sword - This is a sword for a char of mine. It will have a background story later in time, but it is basically a sword of fancyness; bestowing an interesting power on him as he gained it.

I guess this is the art-spam for this round. I would like comments, criticisms and ego-strokers. But please don't be noobish or 1337 in you wordings, I want proper comments; not 'you are the best' or things like this.
