Fortune and Luck...

Because... fortune spheres are more relevent to the luck than power spheres are?
Its just how it was designed. I don't really know what to tell you as far as why they decided to use fortune spheres instead of power. They just did and if you think about it, it makes sense.
Getting them is simple. Kill monsters. Which monsters? I'm not 100% sure, but monsters do drop spheres as rare drops, so once ya find a monster that does, just farm em. Thats the only way I know.
As a side note, I managed to have enough to claim all the luck nodes on the gird with 5 characters, so they can't be THAT hard to get... because I didn't farm them at all >_>

Has anyone managed to gather enough of these things to use on the Sphere Grid to make any amount of difference in the game?
I can go through the stats of all my FFX characters and definitely find out that my highest level for Luck on any character is '21', and it's probably for Lulu. whom I've used the least. It's not that I don't use Luck/Fortune Spheres on the Grid, it's just that I don't stumble across any of them from enemy drops or treasure chests. What the gay?

They're not difficult to get - i didnt think so at least - but they're not easy like power spheres etc.
I'm pretty sure one of the monster area creations drops them... that's where i got a load from anyway. Though I don't really prioritize luck. When i cleared the sphere grid, Luck was the stat i just filled in the spare nodes with that weren't dedicated to the other stats. -shrug;-

I don't think it's so much on the difficulty of getting them, instead it's more of how scarce they are. I mean, one of them is only dropped by like 2 enemies the whole game. Now I personally don't want to battle an enemy 500 times to get so many Fortune Spheres just to spice up stats that don't seem to affect my party anyway.

You need high luck only when you battle against Penance/some Dark Aeons. You dont hit them 100% of the time if you dont have enough luck, and with high luck you avoid a lot of attacks and you do everytime critical damage.
Well, my highest luck is on Tidus and he has 27 luck. =/. That's the highest I've seen.

I never really bothered with the luck spheres. If i came across one great if not i didn't notice

It didn't make much of a difference. I got my luck to like 200 or something.

once you max out luck, your characters would be evading monster's attacks and hitting criticals like crazy. so yes, hitting eartheater in the balls many many times is very worth it..besides getting his flare fart in your face

Yea, my Luck wasn't my highest stat but it was helpful in certain situations.
And doesn't luck in some way effect certain drops rates?

luck doesnt really do much for your characters.
evasion helps you evade, so luck has nothing to do with it, all it does is give you criticals more, and if you deal 99,999 all the time, you dont really need criticals, since you're doing the maximum amount of damage everytime.
i should know, i beat Penance and the original creations with my highest luck in the 5o's. so luck really has nothing to do with it.

I'm still pretty sure that luck can affect your drops... Maybe thats just me -shrug;-
I know Ancient, I think mine were roughly around there and I beat Penance still. Gotta love 99,999 damage. >_>
Luck is only helpful early on with the criticals if you think about it... When you're still dealing quite low damage. Once you get further around the Grid, it's kinda... not worth it. Though I'm a complete perfectionist, so I had to fill in the entire grid. Luck just happened to be the stat left over to do that. XD
