I am definately looking forward to this years GP after last years excitement, my money is defo on Hamilton to win, Il be making my bet at the bookies soon ;)

I can't see Raikonnen winning again, although he did deserve his win I think that final race just went on pure fluke and great unluckiness for Hamilton & his engine failure. Alonso is always going to be a threat but Im not too worried about him tbh. It was bloody close tho

I wouldn't put Raikonnen down that badly, remember he had to pull out of quite few races himself early in the season I believe (I think it was more than Hamilton but I may be wrong) so I think he fully deserved to win it.

For this season though I just don't want Hamilton to win it, I'm just your average bigoted Scot who just likes to see the English fail. Hamilton seems like a half decent bloke but the press just put me off like in every other sport.

It'll be a close race this year probably, but I can see Raikonnen winning it again. Hamilton with a season under his belt is obviously the main threat but I think Raikonnen didn't get any of the credit he deserved after last year. Yes Hamilton was maybe unlucky in teh final race but the fact is Raikonnen won three out of the last four races, and won more races than Hamilton and Alonso in the season. He fully deserved the title but the UK media were too busy groaning about Hamilton's near-miss to give Raikonnen any recognition. He's a great driver and I think he can prove it this year by winning again.

I would say it's between Raikonnen and Hamilton anyway, and at least this season there'll be no tiresome Hamilton v Alonso bickering now.

You don't think that Alonso will have a chance of competing next season then? I'll slightly miss the bickering in a way, it added a bit more drama into the whole thing.

It'll be close in any case with 3 drivers who can have a good chance of winning the thing but I'd go with Raikonnen again personally as well.

I loved the friction between them there was just no way that Mclaren would keep them together as amusing as it was

I always root for the Brit drivers, always have done aside from Barichello who Iv always loved just a shame he was always so over shadowed by Shuey when he was at Ferrari and now he just seems to be trailing far behind these days

I was estactic whe button got his first podium a couple of seasons ago just a shame he doesn't do it often enough. I was rather impressed at Couthard last season actually, normally he fails miserably but tis time he actualy got a decentish place

*bumps*

Righto, it's all kicking off next weekend :monster: Been watching all about the new season today

I can't wait for this night racing shizz

Got a nice scary looking new rule aswel - No traction control. That should cause some dramas.
There's afew other rules and changes but that's the biggie. Im hoping to see drama on the tracks!

Oh man, i swear im having these convos by myself :wacky:

well, it was the first race of the season - Melbourne, australia

It all got off to an epic start with 4 cars crashing out instantly (button was one of them suprise sprise)

Barichelo almost killed a pit mechanic because he drove off while his fule line was still in, he also got disqualified for pitting whilst the saftey car was in, pity really because he was running on fumes and didnt reallyu have a choice, and he was one of the few that finished!

Glock had an amazing crash, how he didn't get seriously injusred il never know, he got air twice and span afew times wheels flying all over the shop

Couthards wheels fell off aswel :wacky:

Raikkonene crashed out - making both ferraris kaput (altho he still got a point seeing as he was the last one out & only 7 cars finished, well 8 i think if you include barichelo)

Anyway....

1 - Hamilton won (wohoo)
2 - heidfeld
3 - Rosberg
4 - Alonso
5 - kovalainen
6 - Nakajima
7 - Boudais (he had engine failure right near the end and woul;d have so done better ><)
8 - Raikonnen (didnt finish but still got a point)

No one else finished (apart from barichello):wacky:

Hamilton is gunna win it this year no dobts he dominated Melbourne even with the 3 safety car periods and also the fact of he has the best car underneath him for reliability oh yea and Raikonnen sucks which is kinda helpful and Alonso's car is soo shit it's unbelievable again a massive help.

Yeah Raikonnen sucks, that must explain his being the world champion then. Because clearly winning the world championship is possible if you suck.

That was a bad race by Raikonnen, but one race doesn't dictate the whole season and there's still a long way to go. Hamilton will be a formidable opponent but I still think Raikonnen can recover.

I think this no traction control rule is fantastic, there are gunna be cars bouncing around all over the shop

I really hope Hamilton keeps this up, we've been way overdue a really good Brit driver :monster:

Im really confident that he can bag a win this season

Hamilton is good no doubt but one race doesn't decide an entire season, sounds like it was an interesting race with so many cars out. The only thing about Hamilton that'll be pretty much guaranteed at the end of the season is that he'll have another autobiography coming out.

Ugh, totally didn't pay attention today, and I watched it TWICE.

Hamilton had wheel issues and he was in the pits for like 20 seconds, that much I do remember. I suppose he did well to finish fifth considering the dramas he had

I saw Massa crash out aswel, that guy is not having a good start to it at all. naff all points yet again

Anyway on with the results :neomon:

Raikkonen
kubica
kovlainen

Lewis is still at the top with 14 points tho :monster:

I so wish Id paid more attention >_<

Edit* Epic the highlights have just come on :wacky:

He's got 3 people within 4 points of him, it's way too early to say whether or not he'll have a chance to win it. Taking away Massa spinning out it looked a bit ominous having both Ferraris lead from the start and they could have had a comfortable 1-2. That can all change in the next race.

It's looking like it'll turn out to be a fairly dramatic season which is only a good thing.

Indeed, I don't WANT it to be like when Shuey used to win all the time it just got boring...

I really do want hamilton to win but I want it to be exciting. Wins being handed to him would just be dull as hell :wacky:

I like Hamilton, but I just hate it when the commentators fawn over him.

I am a big BMW fan and I hope both Heidfeld and Kubica do well. At Melbourne Kubica got hit in the back by someone (can't remember) and if that didn't happen, he would actually be on pace to be leading the championship at the moment!!!

Raikkonen is a great driver, and doesn't deserve the hate he gets from Hamilton fans. Although Iadmit his moodiness in front of the media doesn't do him any favours.

Massa I feel deserves a mention, because I'm sure he is the most unlucky driver ever. He usually drives well, but then somehow always manages to lose it.

I hope Hamilton does win it this year, but I think he will come second to Raikkonen again. Really hope BMW do well. If Heidfeld or Kubica can come ahead of Massa + Kovaleinen I would be ecstatic.

*BTW don't BMW have the best looking front-wings? :P

*BTW don't BMW have the best looking front-wings? :P

I used to love the Jaguar because it was green :wacky: Im more of a mclaren woman these days (even has the shirt :neomon: well, I also have a ferrari one but that's beside the point)

I do feel sorry for Massa, he's just so unlucky. He just seemed to spin out for no reason and I was like o_O

I'm not a Raikkonen hater either, I would just rather Hamilton beat him, and as long as they BOTH do better than Alonsa all will be good :wacky:

And I STILL didn't pay full attention to the highlights, I was so distracted on Sunday -_-

I haven't watched F1 properly for years since Schumacher (sp? silly buggering name) kept winning, made it boring and predictable. Only saw a few races last season but this year I aim to see as many as possible, so far I've missed them all though because of work.

Hamilton for the win. We needed a decent Brit for ages. Ah the days of Mansel and Hill :neomon:

Alonso was saying today that he would leave Renault at the end of the season if he felt they weren't going to be competitive enough for him. Apparently Ferrari would be much better for him. I know it probably won't happen but if he came towards them then I'd hope they tell him to fuck off for being such a disrespectful, unloyal shit. He just wants the easy route to the title.

Bahrain predictions anybody?

1.Massa
2.Heikki
3.Raikkonnen
4. Hamilton
5.Kubica

Im thinking if Massa fucks up again, he's fooked the seasaon for himself. Im not very optimistic for his chances at all

Im thinking hamilton will defo geta podioum if not first altho I suspect it will be a tight race between him and Kimi
