Topic that came up at work, so figured I'd start one here.
When was the first time you ever laid eyes on a computer? Did you jump right in and play with the mouse (click and drag) or break something?
I think I was in fourth grade the very first time I really hopped on the computer. My class were in line outside a computer lab, and I guess our teacher was dropping off a few of his students. I saw some of them go in and I thought, "Oh cool, we're going in!" I didn't know they were only for specific students, and somehow I made my way in without my teacher knowing. So I jumped on, touched the keyboard, put on some weird-looking headset and was being taught how to speak English properly, etc. I was so amazed and excited, actually. No one taught me what to do or click, I was almost a natural at it.
Then 15 minutes later one of the teacher in the lab tapped my shoulder and asked me if I belonged in there.
I just gave her an odd looked and shrugged. At the time I didn't really speak much English (though I excelled in English than the other students) so it was kind of hard for me to communicate. And then it dawned on me that the rest of my class weren't there, haha. I think there were only five students from my class there. My teacher finally had one of his students pick me up from the computer lab, but the good thing was, I was invited to continue coming to the lab, and so I did. After some quick paper procedure from the teachers and my dad, I spent some good time in the computer lab after recess for the rest of the remaining year.
