Final Fantasy Too Violent?

You've already heard about those to guys who commited some crimes(can't remember what), and had by the names of Sephiroth and Reno, after that Final Fantasy was considerated too violent.
But what about GTA?
If Final Fantasy is too violent, what is GTA?

FF is not violent at all, but i did here about them guys though, them fellas in germany right. Games like God of War, Gun and he getaway is violent. I think they have linked it because ff implies violance, but doesn't show it. Kinda like the nibilem flash back scene in ff7.
 
FF Too violent Yeah right. Manhunt is very violent in a maliciuos way thats what makes it good . GTA i really don't think thats violent either. As movies and games evolve people are becoming more and more desenstised (spelling??) and at the rate where going and whats already out there theres just no way FF could be considered violent. Now if I was someone stupid who got caught doing something bad I would say anything to get out of it and video games have taking a beating over similar circumstances.
 
You can almost guarantee the "we h8 video gamez cuz they make our children violent" crew to point out the tiny scene in FFX where in the Baaj Temple the monster has BLOOD coming out of it after getting pwnt by Geoganso.

I stand by my original point I said in another thread on this matter anyway.

If parents think video games are "too violent" don't buy them for your children, don't try and boycott all video games and ruin the fun for those of us not so fucking stupid as to claim we're sephiroth and reno and kill some people.

I totally agree.. Most times its kids not knowing the difference between reeality and fantasy. Which is the parents job to realize this and buy the appropriate games.
 
If you ask me...these zombie and sniper games are more violent than FF.

I recall seeing a game actually where you play the roll of the devil and you create traps to kill people and take their souls. =x
I can't remember the name though.
 
:argh: Ugh! Well that certainly pisses me off. I've never heard about those guys until now. Final Fantasy is NOT violence. If they boycott this game because of some retarded boys, I would...I don't know what I'd do, but it wouldn't be good. :stare:

FF to violent. that's a joke if I've ever heard one. But if ESRB and other anti-good video game people have their way, then FF and other games will be outlawed because some parents won't tell/show their kids what the weapon will do if it is really used. I remember my dad taking me outside with a rifle and a Milk Jug filled with red water and telling me "this is what happens if you shoot someone with a gun." and he shot the milk Jug and I have never played with a real gun. Parents need to do this and this won't be violent because kids won't try what they see to a friend.

It could be looked upon as violent since you do see people stabbing, slashing, blowing up, shooting other people.

Not anywhere near the same league as Manhunt and GTA mind you so it is a bit ridiculous.
 
There's no way Final Fantasy is violent. Something like Postal or Manhunt, now those are violent games. Even if it was violent, I don't see anything wrong with that. I've seen more violent movies than any game I've played. It would be interesting to see a more "mature" Final Fantasy game though.

And as for the two people in Germany, that has nothing to do with a game being "violent" only that certain people have a predisposition to mix fantasy with reality and there's nothing that can be done about that.

You have got to be kidding me Final Fantasy to violent ha. Next you'll be telling me that someone played super mario for to long and decided to jump on everyone. Oh yeah and maybe putting on a racoon suit will help you fly hahaha.
Those kids just wanted an excuse for what they did so they just blame the video games they play. I know lots of people who play violent video games and they can all agree final fantasy is pretty tame compared to games like halo, GTA, postal, and RE.
The closest thing to true violence is "reunion" from FF7 when Sephiroth killed everyone with his sword in the crator. But other than that nothing anyone who would even considered Final Fantasy to be violent clearly hasn't played it.
 
Who said final fantasy was too violent? The only time I ever recall seeing any blood in the games was when Cloud omnislashes Sephiroth! There wasn't even any blood when Aerith is stabbed!

There is so much more violent stuff out there why blame Final Fantasy? People need to stop blaming the media for all the problem with society.
