Hello everyone. The Final Fantasy Marathon is nearing its end, as we are on day 5 of 7. This marathon has been going on for 5 days, and has been very successful. The goal of the Final Fantasy marathon being hosted by TheSpeedGamers this week is not only to complete 12 Final Fantasy games in a week, but to raise thousands of dollars for ACT Today, a charity dedicated to help raise money to research autism.

But this isn't TSG's first rodeo. They've done several of these marathons before, but for different game series. This is there first Final Fantasy marathon, and their longest marathon ever. They've been around for more than a year, and have raised over 50,000 dollars for various charities. Come check it out, before it ends!

Wow. Livefeed of the actual fund raising event?
That is pretty awesome. :monster:

A pretty hectic goal there, but it seems like they are on the way to making it... Day 5 and on FF9 (I'm assuming they've done 1-8 in the other days?).

I hope they do reach the goal. Several family members and two of my closest real life friends have pretty noticable and severe autism.

And ah ok, still quite a few to go, but I have every confidence they'll do it! :O

there taking far too much time on ff9, i was watching 6 hours ago, went to bed ,came back on when i got up and there still on 9..from where they were, they should have been finished or at least within an hours finishing point.

 
I was thinking that... They're taking much longer on this than they have stated they had taken on the others.

I was also wondering. How would they aim to complete FFXI? It can't really be completed. If they mean all the missions etc then that is going to be a BEAST of a task to do within two days. :gasp:
 
nah there not doing it, well at least i don't think.
they mentioned yesterday, there doing VIII next, then they still have bits of IV or the whole thing, and X to do..
at first they had a good strategy to stay low level, but he's spent to much time in random encounters, because he hasn't played it that much.


 
What is the other smaller livefeed window on the right for?

It hadn't been showing every time I had checked since first checking it, but now there is some other dude on a livefeed. He was dancing to Eye of the Tiger while eating a chocolate bar (or crocodile) and drinking some water. I thought it was an advert at first, but it isn't as he then began and still is talking.

Is he eventually going to start playing a game too to help with the time?
 
I think they should keep going until they finish the series personally. I think with this marathon alone they have surpassed the total of all the previous marathons put together in terms of money raised. I think their target was something like $15000 to start with, but they just keep going now. As it stands at this moment, they are a few dollars away from $40000.
 
The stream on the right is a commentator doesnt live close to the lads playing, so he's streaming out of his own bedroom.

He's just a commentator, I don't know his role exactly but he was playing Pokemon earlier in the week. Apparently they were all arguing who was going to play VIII xD
 
That's so awesome, want to watch it so badly ! >_<

Reckon that they are going to get to their aim- IV X and VIII were pretty short. They can do it ! ~~~

Believes in them and such..
