Hello guys, I'm editing this post to put all of the lesson available right now.

Lesson 1.
Katakana for names.

Lesson 2.
The three different writing systems and an introduction to hiragana.

Lesson 3.
Introduction to the Japanese Kanji.

Lesson 4.
Katakana for words of foreign origins.

Lesson 5.
Hiragana and words of Japanese origins.

Hello everyone, it's been a while.

Anyway, I'm writing articles now (as a job) to learn languages (mostly French, Chinese and Japanese). I'm doing my second BA in 2nd language teaching have a fair bit of experience.

I've written about 50 so far but always ended up with the same problem:

How to get people interested into learning Japanese? How to make it accessible for people without any prior knowledge? How to make it fun and interesting for the learner while, of course, remaining free?

I eventually came with the idea of writing a guide to learn Japanese by playing JRPG, in this case Final Fantasy IV (the ds version).

The reason why I'm writing here is becaues I'd like to hear what you have to say about it. I want to make this interesting and fun and I'd really appreciate some feedback.

I'll write my next articles based on what you (as Final Fantasy fans who'd like to learn Japanese) have to say. I really want to have a close relationship with what the readers think so that I can improve and make this a great learning experience.

Anyways, you can say whatever you want, any way you want it, and I will take into account what is said in my future articles and adapt it towards what you guys are looking for.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the way I approach this and will learn a thing or two.

Sounds like a great idea. I can't really thing of any suggestions to make, just that I give it a thumbs-up or applause or whatever.
 
Thanks for your support and interest you two :). Hopefully it'll be helpful to a lot of gamers.

What were your impressions? Was it too long, too short? Too little exercises? Too many? Not explained well enough? Was it ok?

No matter what you didn't like about it, I'll go ahead and Edit it so it better represents what potential Japanese learners might be looking for.
 
That's great! Please let me know if you find things unclear or boring or too far away from the game and I will fix it.
 
That may be the first thing I'll look at when it comes to learning Japanese. My grandma has been encouraging me to learn it soon, especially since I just got in a few orders of books completely written in kanji, so I may take some time in looking into this.

Lesson 6, 7 and 8 have been submitted to my editor. Been waiting for 8 days now, hopefully she'll get around to publish them sometimes soon.
