Final Fantasy Fashion

Hmmm you know, I wonder if we should move out of the FFVII section, change the title so you can all talk about all the FF female fashions in whatever games asides from FFVII? What do you think?

That would be fine. I'll move it to the Final Fantasy Fun section since this thread is getting spammed anyway, which I am contributing to. XD

And this will make my analysis easier as I won't have to make so many threads. *Puts on smart glasses*

*Thread moved*

Now to Lulu.

Yes, Lulu really got screwed over. I think she has quite possibly the most uncomfortable outfit ever in Final Fantasy. XD. Someone said it looks like she just walked out of a brothel house, and i agree, she does look a bit like a Geisha.

Also, on a side note, for living on a island she sure is pale. :O Does she use mass amounts of sun screen? Or does she stay inside that little tent all day and only come out a night?

Back to her outfit. It seriously looks like it's about to fall off. I don't know how it doesn't manage to slip off her boobies after traveling around the world. And those belts... must be a pain to put on all day. I wonder where she even got an outfit like that...

Here's a site that sells a Lulu costume.

It's one of their most expensive costumes.

So Lulu by far wins "Most impractically dressed".

Ok i actually love all of thier outfits. It's not about looking good, its about how practicle they are. Tifa needs to wear less due to her fighting (causing sweat) skirts and shorts are better in yuffie and tifas case, yuffie also being a fighter in the game. Also, aerith is a healer, meaning she doesnt move around much wher fighting is concerned, therefor she may wear a more feminine outfit. Also, it is a fantasy game, the weirder the better i think.

Garnet in IX gets a lot of flack for her normal attire but I don't see anything wrong with it.

And in her dress, she's the most beautiful woman in FF.

Actually Tifa's outfit is not practical at all. Since she is a front line fighter, she needs to have her legs and belly covered up. One hit to her abdomen and she's dead. Pants and a t-shirt would be much more practical.

Her outfit is there for fanservice, nothing else. The short skirt is proof enough of that because it would produce panty shots galore.

There are many, many ugly and impractical character designs, and they're mostly Nomura's.

AC Tifa was much more practical than FFVII Tifa. She actually had shorts on and didn't they reach her knees? She also had her belly covered: much better protection. However, I still thought the skirt-thing that was around her waist was just stupid, if anything I think it would limit her movement.

"Fantasy" doesn't necessarily mean "impractical beyond all reason".

Tifa would make use of the term "fantasize" more than "fantasy"

That Lulu costume is epic :monster:

If a tad imptactical for battle :wacky:

I think the reason Tifa is dressed as she is, is mainly to do with owning a bar in the slums.

It's a tacky place to start with, plenty of drunk hobos all over the place. If she's desperate to make money she needs to get business in, hence small skirt, tank top etc.

Once you've embarked on a mission to save the planet I think your outfit moves to the bottom of the priority list. So maybe that's why it never changed afterward.

And just think, at least all the guys she killed along the way (eg: Shinra soldiers) got one last perv out of it before they were expunged ;).

After putting together my FFXII cosplay group, I can confidently say that:
FFXII HAD THE MOST IMPRACTICAL BATTLE OUTFITS, EVER.

Everyone could barely move in their outfits, especially Fran, Balthier, and Ashe.

I think FFVIII had the most believable outfits for battle. Sure, Selphie fought in a mini-skirt, but at least their outfits didn't limit their range of motion.

Not so sure about my opinion on the rest of FF's fashion, but I'll get around to it. ^^
