Good evening good people. I am here to share with, get feedback and ask for your advice on certain aspects of a concert me and my friend are planning to run at our city's yearly anime convention. The concert will be running next year so we have alot of work to do. I spose a bit of backround would be good for you all.


We have picked 20 songs, 21 including encore, from the Final Fantasy series to be arranged for an orchestra, rock band and choir. Someone songs will feature all 3, some will just be the rock band alone or the orchestra alone, etc. Below you can see the songs we have chosen

4) Theme of Love - Final Fantasy IV

5) Clash on the Big Bridge - Final Fantasy V

6) Kefka - Final Fantasy VI

8) Opera "Maria and Draco" - Final Fantasy VI

9) Dancing Mad (All Tiers) - Final Fantasy VI

10) Opening~Bombing Mission - Final Fantasy VII

11) J-E-N-O-V-A - Final Fantasy VII

12) Aerith's Theme - Final Fantasy VII

13) One Winged Angel - Final Fantasy VII

14) Eyes on Me - Final Fantasy VIII

15) Maybe I'm a Lion - Final Fantasy VIII

16) The Castle - Final Fantasy VIII

17) Vivi's Theme - Final Fantasy IX

18) Vamo'alla Flamenco - Final Fantasy IX

There you have it, those are the songs that have been selected.
However more needs to be planned for this concert, such as what would be good program book content etc etc. Any ideas you guys have would be awesome to hear, just so it can help me keep moving along at a decent pace.



Also, we are going to run a video package at the start of the night and need well known or memorable moments from Final Fantasy games (Main Series only), if you can suggest any, that would also help heaps.

Well Tim, i have no idea about the program.. but i have a couple ideas about the video that might suit your fancy.. You could possibly do the opening/ending of some of the FF games, and maybe some other memorable moments.. for example: In FFVII when Sephiroth comes down out of the sky and kills Aeris.. or if you think that is a bit to depressing.. you could use the clip also from FFVII when Cloud and friends escape from Shinra corp

Dude, if I were anywhere nearby, and not 10,000 miles away, I'd love to see that.

Personally, I think it would be better if you condensed one or two of those into medleys, they work quite well, but then again, what sort of time slot are you supposed to be filling?

Also, I wouldn't necessarily play them in chronological order either, because if you look at the nature of some of the pieces, it might seem a little disjointed. For example, you have Aeris' Theme sandwiched between One Winged Angle and J-E-N-O-V-A, it would probably work better if OWA and J-E-N-O-V-A were together.
 
Oh, it wont be played in that order, that was just easier to organize cause it was in chronological order and such. But yeah, we'll hopefully be recording it live and filming it to. If we don't do that me and my friend are going to take requests for songs you'd like us to record "in studio" if you will.

The idea we had before we play OWA is that we get the scene from Advent Children when Sephiroth comes back to play before we start the song itself. We also decided that we MUST include Kefka's cackle in Dancing Mad somehow, WE MUST.

Oh we're aiming to, we've got a meeting set up with the convention runners in about 4 weeks time, so if ANYONE here is from Melbourne, voice your support now! Hell, even people who dont live in Australia are welcome to say why a concert like this would be a good idea.

And yes, we fully intend on video taping it! AND releasing certain tracks for you guys to listen to!

Completed:

50% or more completed:

Started or near 50% completed:
