Ok, it seems to me that the loss of MP greatly ruined the strategy of this game. You could summon GF after GF forever and just tottally kill you're enemies.

Do you think that this aspect of the battle system made the game too easy?

It was too easy imo.

Yeah I guess in a sense it kind of ruined it...but the fact that your GFs could die made it a little more likeable.
And every time your GF dies in battle, he loses respect points towards your character.

The GF's were some of my favorite parts about this game. I really didn't focus on the MP loss at all, but I didn't overuse my Guardian Forces either. I am mainly an attacker with my chars, but if the need arises when a challenge awaits me and I can't get around it, I'll summon the GF's to see if they can knock down the wall for me.

Well you don't have to make it really easy. :) Just don't use GF all that much and focus on having your characters attack. I mainly used my character, then would use my GF after every 10-15 battles or so, just so that I can increase their respect towards me.

Losing MP had its difficulties in this game. For example : you could lose certain spells once you ran out of stock. I liked the GF idea and i think it made a nice change and makes FF VIII another great FF game.

Yeah, final fantasy 8 without GFs are sort of known as a failure

umm i didn't focus on the MP, i concentrated on summoning them over and over to reach to their fastest summon duration.:D

but sadly i failed to do it to bahamuth, cactuar and eden... i just feel great to cast a gf almost instantly as i select it.

I am ashamed to admit that I am one of tose people who, erm, repeatedly uses his/her GF.

Over and over and over again.

This is probably becaus I don't know the meaning of the word strategy and therefore suck at anyhing that involves it. So the GF's were a big plus for me!

Can you block an attack using a gf like in ffx?
if so they are pretty useful then
apart from that theyarent that good cause by the time the summon has finished you coulda done more damage by attacking :)

But if there was MP and still the aspect of summoning it wouldve been close to the same thing

*Hasn't used a single GF in his last three or four playthroughs*

^^

For once, though, people aren't complaining that junctioning magic makes using magic stupid or some such. :)
