Sorry guys I know everyone hates these questions, but they have to be asked.

I THINK my system is at the recommended specs:

Windows 7 64 bit
Core 2 duo @ 2.5GHz
ATI Radeon 5450 1GB Ram
4 GB ram

What should I put my settings to for optimal performance? Right now im using:

full screen @ 1280x720
no AA multisampling
three quarters buffer size
low shadow detail
standard texture quality
low texture filtering
Everything else unchecked except hardware mouse

If I set the buffer size to "resolution" I get nice graphics, but there is a delay when I press a key and when the character moves. I would like to be able to set buffer size to resolution, but is there a way I can do it and not get this lag?

What do you guys think would be optimal settings for my pc?

I think the settings you listed are good for a system of your specs. If you're looking for a good framerate.

What would be needed to play with the buffer rate set to "resolution?"
There's a program called "Fraps" which tells you the framerate of a game you're playing. All you do is download it and minimize it while you're playing the game, and it will display the framerate on-screen.

This will show in numbers just how poorly the game is playing. If the number is 30 or higher, then in theory unsmoothness in the game might not be due to poor computer performance. 20 and below isn't very good. You'll probably see a drop in number of frames with each increase in graphics quality.

Fraps tends to screw up your framerate quite a bit, so take it with a grain of salt. Basically if the game is smooth 99% of the time, you're doing fine. You will probably suffer some lag simply because the servers aren't instantaneous but you should be able to load the environment smoothly.

Ok thanks guys, I never knew about fraps before. I'm hoping that some of the lag has to do with the servers as well, because the menus lag a bit and it seems to take a minute or two for the npc's to load on a map
