I didn't know that the accessories were used to upgrade weapons and I finally got the feature that allows you to upgrade your weapons but I sold all the accessories that I got at the beginning of the game. Will it hurt me to just keep playing the game and then upgrade later after I get more accessories? Or should I start a new game? Did I screw it up?

By 'accessories' i'm assuming you mean components. :hmmm:
But no, you've not screwed up, in fact, I did the exact same thing on my first playthrough and I (relativley) didn't have that much trouble.
You tend to get a lot of the 'lower' components in fights (these give a high multiplier value and are best used for that), and the higher components are more rare (ie. Treasure Spheres etc) but give more exp.
So just balancing the two types out will help you save a lot, and no, I don't think it's anything worth restarting over. =]
You can gather quite a lot without realising it tbh.

I won't screw you up! Just keep playing and you'll get much better ones! I once knew someone who beat the game without upgrading at all! I didn't even know I could upgrade until well into the game! It wont hurt you at all! It can only help...and Atla gave some great tips on using them :hmmm:

Ok thanks, I didn't think it would hurt me at all. Yea I did mean components :p anyway thanks, you have me the answer I was hoping for.
