Along with forum-ing of any sort, I haven't been keeping up on RPGs at all in the last year or so. What all is known about Final Fantasy XIII? I see a lot of speculation in different topics but how much is actually confirmed?

Do we know character names? Basic story background? Weaponry? Enemies? Anything? I heard something about it being released for the 360 as well. True?
 
The pig-tails girl is named Sera confirmed at TGS, Mr.33cm according to Shonen Jump his name will be Snow. as far as weapons go, all we know so far is that Lightning will use a Gunblade, Sera is seen using a Bow and Snow has been seen using a Gun, Lightning also has been seen using a *gravity grenade* and can control time with the use of some mechanism on her fingers. FFXIII is confirmed for the 360 and PS3, FFVXIII however is still a PS3 only. The background The crystals are sentient beings, they created the *Farsi* who then created *Cocoon* Cocoon is a city floating in the sky, the citizens of Cocoon have a great fear of *Pulse* the world below, and anyone they believe has any connection with Pulse they banish them from Cocoon, the Farsi who are above normal humans, they were created by the Crystals, to sorta govern the world i think, then there are the Lusi, who are humans chosen by the Farsi for a greater purpose. Lightning is marked as someone who will destroy the world, and from what i know is hated by the people of Cocoon, Snow and Sera are Lusi, as to why they are helping Lightning i do not know. The Crystals have the ability to create living creatures and objects, the reason the Farsi created Cocoon is to protect the people from the world of Pulse. Is this what you wanted? If there is anything i have said that is incorrect, please, correct me, and if there is anything i have forgotten, i am sorry

Actually, that covers a lot of ground. It sounds very complex. Hopefully it is told in a complex and intriguing manner without becoming too convoluted, eh? I also cannot help but think of Chrono Trigger and Zeal, specifically Enhasa.

Ok, me and Aztec were looking online at The-MagicBox.com for video games and saw something about the main male character being named: Snow?

Now Vera mentioned that Snow is also a location from what I take. Any clarification on that?
 
Snow is Mr.33 cm, it's not a place as far as i know, i do know that Snow is a lusi as is Sera. Does this clear things up?

Nah, no problem at all. Like Aztec, once I fell away from FF Forums, I sorta lost connection with FF games altogether.

Back when the plot was first hinted at I knew that The current place they lived was going to be over-taken or affected by "something" from the Cocoon place and that the planet they lived on had to send a warrior to the Cocoon to save their homes or whatever.

It all made sense back then, but like I said, it was just a brief run-down at the time which I turned into a news article for a FF site I wrote for. it's good to be back into the swing of things though.

Wondering that if we put together a topic with enough info that is already released about the game, we can at least Sticky it until the game is released...?
 
That's a good idea, i'll help anyway i can, with either FFXIII or FFVXIII. Pulse is the place with the infection (not saying a literal infection, i don't know), which is why the people of Cocoon fear Pulse and all who live there, and that is also the reason the Farsi built Cocoon, to protect the people, what confuses me is the Lusi take orders from the Farsi, the Farsi take orders from the crystals, the crystals are with Cocoon, so why are Snow and Sera helping Lightning? they are Lusi, and Lightning is the enemy of the world, well thats the title she is branded with and is an enemy of Cocoon, of course, it was hinted that there could be more than one Crystal, so they could be with Pulses Crystal.

Yeah, I sort of figured that Lightening would be branded with a bad name amongst the population even though deep-down she probably will end up saving everyone and being the Heroine in the end.

In a way it seems like another Basch situation from FFXII where he was mistakingly identified as the bad-guy in the game until facts came out about his and his counter-part's identity.

As for the crystals, I totally forgot that the FFXIII Compilation is centered around Crystals once again, and did not hear anything about them in this game at all from what I remember. That's another thing I'll have to look more into.
 
yeah, if Pulse has a Crystal, and Sera and Snow are with that Crystal, then it would explain what Sera was doing on Pulse in the trailer
