How exactly does this work? I'm guessing it means to light up every path on the grid, I'm not sure. Like, if you go to the second last node on a path activate the one next to you, does that count or would you need to actually sit on every node? Do you have to activate every node of just have been to it, like if I don't want to teach everyone silence attack but I go over it on the grid does that count? Also do you have to fill all empty nodes with spheres? (I'm guessing you don't)? If anyone knows or has gotten he trophy let me know thanks :)

I assume you don't need to fill the empty nodes, but other than that, I just though you needed to activate every node.... So now I'm not so sure lol

Yeah I'm thinking that too, but I saw someone on another site say they thought we'd have to fill every empty node. I'm also not sure if I have to teach everyone every technique or if going over to light them up them counts.

You have to fill in and activate every node on the grid, which also includes unlocking all the level 1-4 spheres. It's quite tedious lol.

Okay I have semi-bad news here. Completing the sphere grid means not only completely unlocking and going to every section of the grid and activating all the nodes, it also means filling all the empty nodes as well. I know this because right now I have a character with a completely full grid and the only other option is to now start filling all the blank nodes. So...yeah, for those who are still unsure, this is how you have to get the trophy.

You do have to fill in all the empty nodes, yes, but you don't have to physically travel to all of them and connect the lines. For example, if you're next to a strength node, you don't have to physically travel onto it. You just need to activate it with a power sphere and that will count towards your grid completion. If you're going for a Plat, this shouldn't be a problem since you'll need to do some stat maxing in order to take on Penance and the Dark Aeons. My advice is to just ignore the sphere grid trophies for now and focus on buffing your characters.

At this point I have every stat maxed except luck and magic. Magic and luck take significantly longer since getting luck spheres involve beating Greater Sphere which takes time and getting fortune spheres is even more time consuming since you can only get two per battle. I don't know if I'll need luck to beat Penance but I've beaten Nemesis and most of the Dark Aeons so far and if I do manage I might just fill the rest of the grid with magic defence or something since I have enough of them to max out the grid and mana spheres are so readily available.

General rule of thumb is you want at least 130 luck. Before you take on Penance, you may want to read a FAQ. He's quite difficult if you don't have a solid setup. Once you beat him, you can pack your grid full of whatever spheres you want since you won't need to sweat over stat maximizing.

Ugh. Of course I'd need one of the most time-consuming stats to do this. Oh well back to the calm lands...I have a feeling I'll need to work on my armour too lol

I'm going to make an assumption here and say that you don't want to max out HP since it's even more tedious than Luck. You're seriously going to want to stave off defeating Dark Yojimbo because you'll need to go the Ribbon route, and Ribbon is ridiculously hard to customize since it requires 99 Dark Matter. Yojimbo is the best source to farm Ribbon equipment, and you might get extra lucky and get Auto-Phoenix as well. You'll need that since the Break HP Limit is only value to you in the fight against Penance if you have almost completely maxed HP and use Auto-Regen. Take some time now and research good armor for going up against Penance. It various depending on how much time you're willing to put into maxing HP. Granted, you don't need max HP if you prep your armor the right way.

Yeah I think I'll go for the armour instead of the HP. I looked a couple of days ago into whether Breaking the HP barrier was worth it and the general consensus seemed to be no. I'll see how it goes once I get this tedius luck stat out of the way lol thanks for the tips! Have you finished the remaster?

Have I finished yet? Hardly, lol. I haven't even ventured to fight the final boss yet I've been so busy playing Blitz and farming spheres. I almost have everyone's grids maxed. I figure once I do that, I'll go take on Penance then finish off with the Lightning Dodger before I finally make my way to the boss. You know what really irks me? I've already done all this in my PS2 game. My "perfect" save is over 200 hours long. This is the last time I'm ever maxing stats lol.

Haha well I guess I'm lucky cause I never actually perfectly completed it before. I swear nothing is worse than the Chocobo racing though, I'd farm spheres for days and be happy if I didn't have to do that darned catcher chocobo. I've already done pretty much all the sidequests, the only thing I have left to do is buy the fmvs at Luca, race under Remium temple, and of course the Dark Aeons/Penance/sphere grid lol I haven't done the final boss at all yet cause I like doing that last before I move on to X-2 and I know as soon as I fight it I'll really not want to go back to sidequests.

If I had to choose a favorite FF--and believe me, I'm hard pressed to do this--it would be FFX. I maxed my grid out on the PS2 because I didn't want the game to end lol. I've done most of the challenges for it like NSG and character-only runs. I even tried a speed run lol. But now that I have to listen to the new music and look at those new renders, I'm actually turned off by the remaster. Whenever I look at Yuna and Tidus now, I think Care Bears. Before you ask, it's because the company that did the FFX remaster is best known for their Care Bears CGI film and Dora the Explorer for Leapfrog. I'm dead serious; those are their credentials.

Yeah, Catcher's pretty annoying. There's a trick to it, though. When I remembered how I used to do it, I managed to get the Sun Sigil in under 30mins. Since the course is randomized, every time you play the balloons are in different places. You have to wait for a nice path that steers you into the bird blind spots, then it's a cinch. Did you do the Lightning Dodger yet? I've only completed that once because it's so tedious. I'm dreading having to do it again. Lol, first time I did it, I made it to 188 jumps and then got struck. I was soooooo mad! I avoided it for a few days before attempting it again.

When I first put the game in the faces and the eyes in particular were really off-putting and I didn't know if I'd be able to enjoy the game because of it, but I actually got used to it really quickly and after only like an hour of playing I didn't even notice anything was different from my memory (and I only played the game like a year ago haha).

Oh gosh, I took hours to get it and gave up the first twice to go and do something else. I got every single one of the celestial weapons finished before Tidus' because I hate that race so much. I didn't mind the lightning one, I think I've gotten that one on almost all my games. There's an easier way to get that one though, there's a place in the south of the thunder plains where there's a big hole in the ground on the left of the path just after a lightning rod tower and if you run north into that crater lightning strikes you. So I just ran in circles going into that crater and you then know exactly when the lightning's going to hit, so it's just a case of doing it 200 times lol I used pause a fair bit :P

I don't want to get used to their new faces, lol. They actually don't emote as much as the originals. If you watch comparison videos, the old faces had a wider range of motion. If I wasn't worried about my PS2 dying someday or my disc getting so scratched that it eventually will stop working, I don't think I'd have much to do with the remaster. Facial restrictions aside, I wish they had included the original soundtrack. I miss some of the older songs--Besaid in particular. I like the remix fine enough, but the original sounds better to me. Then there's Auron's Theme... the remix is unrecognizable. If nothing else, I wish they had just left that one song along lol.

Yeah, I'm reluctant to do the LD because my eyes get tired easily while watching for flashes. It's the last Sigil I need, too, but I'll save it for much later when I actually have the peace of mind to sit there with no distractions. At least while I'm filling the grid and grinding for spheres, I can multitask. LD requires my undivided attention lol.

I noticed that about the emotion when watching comparisons, but once I got used to them I still thought they were expressive enough so I like them fine. I do prefer the original soundtrack as well, but I'm glad they remastered it cause I liked hearing new songs as I was going through the game. It felt like more of a new experience :)

Well what I did with the lightning was count for 20 and then pause it and do something else and then come back and do another 20 and I got it all done in one. If I started feeling like I was going to get distracted then I'd just do 10 and pause instead.

Oddly enough, I tried that strategy once and found that I was more likely to slip up lol. I'm going to do what I did last time and just mute the TV, listen to Billy Joel, and just keep my eyes off of Tidus. I usually train my eyes on the corner of the screen to watch for flashes. I just need a quiet night to myself first.

Have you decided on a setup for Penance yet?

I'm thinking possibly Auto Protect, Auto Haste, Auto Potion and Defence+20%. That seems to be the most recommended armour. I don't know if I'd be better of with Auto Regen instead, because I've always preferred Auto Regen but most people seem to be saying Auto Potion is best for Penance so...probably best to take the advice of those who have it done lol

Hrm, I don't recommend Auto-Regen if you don't have Break HP Limit. That first setup is more reliable. Just make sure that if you choose Auto-Potions, that you have X-Potions in your stock. If you want to go for the Auto-Regen armor, I'd recommend a different armor altogether: Break HP, Auto-Phoenix, and Auto Haste. Also keep in mind that if you don't Break HP, you'll need to use Cheer in conjunction with the Def +20% so as to give yourself an extra boost. Out of the two combinations you're thinking about, the Auto-Regen/Break HP combo is slightly better, but the other armor is also a good choice. At this point, it all boils down to the type of attack strategy you're thinking of using and how much more time--if any--you want to spend on your Sphere Grid.
