Okay I realise this is a tough riddle so I'll give you all a better chance of guessing correctly by changing it slightly...

After a battle that tore the land assunder but left me intact...
I still struggle to find my true purpose...
Me and my 2 companions take the last and hope to rebuild...

No, sorry, I assure you there is a perfectly logical answer to this riddle all you should need to do is think about the clue...
