Ok, i have cadabolg (unupgraded) and both the sun sigil and sun crest, i assume the way to power it up is to go back and touch the rune. However, i cannot do this for i have the airship and every time i try to get the gaurd to move by beating the chocobo lady, he doesn't move. How do i get the gaurd to move if i already have the airship. (this is all in order to get cadabolg upgraded)

You have to take it to Macalania Forest. There you'll find a mother and kid who's father is missing. You go to find the father in the place you started after Tidus/Yuna's love scene.
The father goes back, but the kid is gone (OH NOEZ!) but he's easy to find, on the new magical walk way thingy in the forest, he'll be on there. Once he's reunited with his parents, he'll move out of the way of the route you need to go.
Walk straight up (it's a dead end, don't worry) and press X when you get to the end. You'll be asked to present the Celestrial Weapons, so select Tidus and say yes to using the Sun Crest, once that is over, do it again and use the Sun Sigil.
Then you have the Caladbolg fully upgraded.
Do this for every one of your party members' Celestial Weapon once you have them and the Sigil/Crest you need for each.
