I have FFVII for the PSone but I recently got a PSP and I have had a long enough break from the game to replay it again.
So I downloaded it on my PSP. I can play this on the PS3 also (but I am not going to get a PS3 for another few weeks)

I notice right away that the screen size for this game is a lot smaller than the PSP screen size!

So, when I get my PS3 and I switch to playing it on there, am I going to get a super small screen size? Should I just take out my PSone version? I really liked the hand-held option but it's soooo small on that screen... and I especially don't want to get into it on the PS3 if it's not even going to reach a full screen size...

Personally I'd recommend it on the PSP. With the resolution of FF7's graphics being so low-res in comparison to most modern PS3 games, it really would not add anything to watch it on a larger screen. In this case I would find it much convenient, and the music and overall graphics quality would pretty much be the same.

How'd u download it onto your PSP? :O

^^ I have the same question. It confuses me because don't you have to aquire the Ps3 to download it onto your PsP? unless you did it through a friend or something but anyways, I like the hand held thing as well just so when i'm on the go it's better then nothing right? VII on the PS3 isn't much different from the PS the graphics are pretty much the same. As far your screen size do you think it could be your PSP? maybe you can adjust it somehow.. idunno i'm not an technology person so idk XD. But, It should take up your screen size shouldn't it? It kindof seems a bit odd :hmmm: :brow:It's totally up to you weather or not you want to download it when you get the PS3 but I never had screen size issues. If all else fails just play it on your PS:)

Because you can download games directly onto the new PSP Go.

As for your question about screen size, on the PSP there is a PS button, press it to bring up a menu, click options or screen size, then click on custom. You can use the R1 and L1 buttons to scale the image to the size of the screen.

Hope this is accurate, I changed mine a while ago and I cba to go get my PSP to be more exact, but this is definitely along the lines of how to do it :D

^^^ oh you posted while I typed this-- I'm going to try adjusting the size now!

Yeah it's really weird how small it is... I'll attach a picture to show the size.

I downloaded it off the PS store on the PSP. Made sure my memory card had enough room required and downloaded it. And then accessed my memory card to play the game.

And Adamant I think you're right about the graphics! It's so funny because I look at them now and remember them being at least a little better! I do love wearing earbuds and playing the PSP, it blocks everything out... and I like the mobility a LOT.

I'm really curious about how its going to look on the PS3 because I know I will want to switch back and forth, I don't know anyone with a PS3 so I can't give it a test...
But if I play this game on a screen with the same basic dimensions and it comes up that small I might still want to play it on my PSone...

I'll have to decide before I get too far into it! If it just reached the top and bottom I wouldn't care that the sides were black... You know how it is, you want to enjoy the game fully!

.Lightning, that worked!! Thank you! I notice the resolution changes but I'm alright with it, now I feel like I can see what I'm doing. And I'm assuming now it won't be so tiny if I pop it into the PS3 when I get it.

Thanks again!

--edit-- oops, I just noticed another thread with a question similar to my PS3 question, I read through and now I know more of what to expect on that.

You can download them onto the PSP3000 as well, as long as you have a PSN and your PSP is hooked up to the net then you can download FFVII straight to your PSP3000 as well :monster:

when playing, hit the home button, screen setting or something like that next, and go to fullscreen, it fills the whole screen with very minimal distortion.

Haha, I know I'm just being plain stupid now, but I have to buy it right?

Yeah haha. All you need to do is hook a debit card up to your account and then just use that to but it, I think it's only £7.99. Alternatively I think you can buy PSN Cards to top up your balance though I've never used one myself.

I downloaded mine onto my PSP-1000.... so I think everyone else should be fine.

I would go with PSP, simply for the fact that you can take the game wherever you go. I don't really know about picture quality, but it was fine on my PSP, and the screen on mine is pretty scratched up.
