Help [FFIX] PS3 Problems?

FFIX starts going really laggy, and then eventually freezes, during the cutscene/FMV before I enter Black Mage Village for the first time. It plays the rest of the game perfectly, but it keeps lagging and freezing here.

It's never happened before when I've played FFIX, so is it just a problem with playing FFIX on the PS3? And how would I get around it?

Ive played and completed FFIX on the ps3 and had no problems with it at all. So it sounds like a disk problem, scratches maybe? WHat version of FFIX do you have? Mine was the original (not platinum) that worked fine.

Well, I had a feeling it might be a disk problem, so after it failed last time, I got it out and checked the back, and was DISGUSTED to see how messy the disk was. I blame my brother, cause he keeps touching it.

Anyway. cleaned the disk, and it worked perfectly! Thank christ. I was beginning to panic. xD
