So I got all the way to the crystal world, teleported back to Memoria Entance, went to Black Mage Village to get more potions and hi potions, went all the way back to crystal world and then fought the first of the 3 last bosses. I killed him easily but died on Kuja. So, I've refought that first guy like 20 times and still cant beat him again. My whole party (Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, and Amarant) are lvl 50-54. Does anyone have any suggestions on which abilities I should use? Going back and leveling up is out of the question because I really don't want to run from Memoria to Crystal World again.

I belong to a lot of forums I dont know why I didnt look first. I just knew I needed FFIX help so I went straight to FFIX and didnt scroll down any farther
(In case you didnt notice I actually joind in April '08 but posted like...7 times then left)

Your levels are actually pretty good when I look at your first post. Right now if I fire up my last save file, I would be around the 50's for my main 4 party members.

I would say try to learn as many abilities as possible from the weapons and accessories you're equipping. Maybe try adding another big hitter to your line-up to knock some more HP off of the final bosses when you attack. My final party was Zidane, Amarant, Steiner, and Garnet. If you're sticking with Vivi, make sure his attacks consist of some pretty strong Magic if you want to knock Kuja down big.

Well my whole party has already gotten every ability they can from the items i have
I have meteor with Vivi but it misses everytime
Their AP is right around 40-45
All of them except for Amarant have auto potion and regen on
Zidane and Amarant have Bird Killer which helps with flying enemies
I gave Zidane high tide too so his Trance meter fills up faster
My problem with the...Deathwhatever is right at the start of the fight he uses meteor which ends up killing Garnet and Vivi. I would be fine if like...Zidane and Vivi died because Garnet's the one who can use life so she could fix it easily. But I end up using a phoenix Down on Garnet and she gets like 7 health and dies before she can use Curaga. I guess I'll just leave and level up Steiner. He's only level 22 but he hits 1600 already so he's pretty good...I wish I could have Blank

sport

well you might wanna try changing characters to see who all can hold up on their own. If anything though memoria isn't to hard to get through so yeah if you need to level up. After you fight the boss right before Kuja you can go back and save so you might wanna do that. It helps so you don't have all three you just got kuja and the "god" creature.

*headdesk*
oh my god
all the way through that fight i was like "wow i hope it lets me save after this" and i didnt even realize until just now that you were able to move between fights. I just ran forward without thinking.
thank you

Isn't there like one save point you get to put anywhere in Memoria? Where did you put it? I placed mine at the very location right before the fight with the Garland or whoever the boss was right before him.

That was on Terra
and the boss before Garland was the Silver Dragon

Am I missing something than?

Ah, I know what or who it is! Deathguise!

Right before going into face Deathguise I placed that Save Crystal right around that waterfall.

...I didnt get a save crystal. There's already one sitting there.
I think you're thiking of FFVII when you get that save crystal when you do into Northern Mountain

Ah dang, you're right. Thanks.

If you do decide to go with leveling up one of your weaker characters like Steiner, train a bit in Memoria, or right outside the library by the huge waterfall in Dangeroo. (spelling?) Both places are pretty good since the bosses are pretty tough and you can save and heal up nearby.

yeah. The best place to level is actually Oelivert but that's blocked off during disc 4 so Memoria is now

i havnt played ff9 in a long time, though i wish i still had my disks x.x one is missing, its my favorite game *btw my disk 1 is missing*

i forget which order the last 4 bosses before kuja come in, and i forget their names, is it lych kraken, 2 of em i think the last 2 actually and then its the sky demon guy (tiamat?) and the 4 armed snake girl... if your talking about the tiamat guy, he isnt that bad... if its his magic your having issues with, you might want to concider casting shell or giving someone an autoshell type ability... ( i dont even remember if there IS an autoshell) my party was usually zidane, vivi, dagger, freya/eiko/amarant (i change constantly because i love them all) for that perticular battle, i would recomend freya, she has heavy armor and can deal some massive damage... amarant would do as well but wouldnt take such hard hits... meteor is nice with vivi, but if your missing that much its just not worth it, summon carbuncle to cast reflect on everyone, and have vivi cast a GA spell on everyone in your party (works great if one of your healers has null-reflect)

if youve built up freyas dragon crest, by all means smite the poor birdie, if not cherry blossum and jumps work too (jump is awesome by the way because if he calls a meteor and your in the air, freya will live)

i guess i cant give the best advice, i have beaten the game twice but hey, you can NEVER have TOO MUCH SUPPORT MAGIC! so... that being said... haste, shell, protect, reflect

oh and when you get to lych who uses earthquake, use float... its a lifesaver... literally..

in refrence to the post above me

go outside the entrence of Daguerreo: grand dragons are in my honest opinion the 2nd best exp in the game, next too these puppy things that i cant remember their names or where they are but ill look for you.. if i find it ill edit this post to give details

ok they are called yans, heres a video of them and where to find them
