So for playing the pre-playstation games (I-VI) would it be better to get an emulator to play them in their original version (though obviously on a computer as opposed to their console) or better to just get one of the remakes? I've already played most of III on the DS (although the numbering got changed around with the updates didn't it?) and am almost done and I have the PSP version of I but as for the others, which I intend to play when I am finished with I and III, which would be the better route in your opinion? Like, is there really anything to lose by not playing the original version?

The originals tend to be a little harder, but at the end of the day no. Infact your getting more extra's with each subsequent re-release.....

FF I+II on PSP
IV, V + VI on GBA
III and IV (again) on DS
and find an emulator n'rom for the original FF III (translated ofcourse) because it's still good.

Sorry for mass post and quetions, thank you for any replys

Jeff of Oregon here ive been looking for a thread for some questions, but im not to good at forums, i do no not to start random Treads, so i hope i can get a link to a tread or answers here.

Ok so what systems and what games are on what the numbers are all out of wack due to US getting random titles at first like:

FF 1 Nes
FF 2 Snes
FF 3 Snes
FF 7 Ps1
FF 8 Ps1
FF 9 Ps1
FF 10 Ps2
FF 10 1/2 Ps2
FF 11 Online only ? ( No free servers ? )
FF 12 Ps2
FF 13 Ps3?

Then i had but loaned out like 3 years ago a Ps1 FF 1-2 Game, thats the real 2 right?
then there was asolgy or something that has 4-5-6 ? or what numbers ?

then there Gba and DS titles what order are they?

i seen some FF 6 and Crono cross for Ps1 ?, i went online looking found this site which is by far the best one i found, the FF devs need to give credit to you all.

then there is FF tatics for PS1 and a remake or just a copy of it on PSP ?

Gba has FF tatics advance or something is that a FF T 2 ? and i think i read a Ds had a FF tatics as well

im so lost here and im asking alot of questions im sorry, im just a old schooler trying to relive his youth playing Final Fantasy games again, i have the local game shop on watch for the titles i need

I own
FF 2 Psp
FF 2 Snes
FF 8 Ps1
FF 10 Ps2
FF 10 1/2 Ps2
FF 12 Ps2
FF Tatics Psp

FF Mystic Quest !! ( i havent seen it anywere on here so far hahah )

i seen a Snes FF 3 at game shop for 35$, but if i can get or figure out what system has a new one id rather get it, i also seen there is a Nes, Snes, and Saga genes game system for 100$ would help save room.

FF2 on the SNES was FF4 in Japan.
FF3 on the SNES was FF6 in Japan.
The original FF2 and 3 were never released in the USA until the remakes (FF2 on Origins along with FF1 on the PS,GBA,and PSP) and (FF3 on the DS)

Yes the real FF 2 is the one on Origins along with FF1 for the Playstation.

FF Anthology was FF5 and FF6. Yes it's the original FF6. (It was released as FFIII in the USA on the SNES)

Then there was FF4 and Chrono Cross released as Final Fantasy Chronicles on the PS1. Yes,that is the original FF4 (was FFII on the SNES in the US.)

Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions is an updated version of Final Fantasy Tactics and includes New Characters,in-game cutscenes, and other things.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is not a direct sequel although it does share similarities with Final Fantasy Tactics.

I hope this helps to clear up a few things JeffofOregon!
