FFF September 2007 Writing Competition

I thought we'd just post in a thread? That seems like the simplest and most logical method to me.
I assume that the submission dates have been altered due to the server move?
 
But if you post your entry in the thread people will know its yours and then they could be biased against you when they vote... I assumed you'd be allowed to stay anonymous, and just PM rhea with your entry...
 
I thought we were going for actual judges on this, rather than votes?
I'd really rather that happened, since a judge actually knows what they're talking about. And what does it matter if people know who's it is anyway? Votes along the lines of "im voting for such-and-such cuz i liek dem lololol" should be discounted.
 
1) I was planning on having a submission thread where people could just openly submit their pieces, however...judging from my past experience with people not being capable of reading the rules...I've decided not to use that method.

2) You can submit your pieces to me via PM.
You can have your name on your submission, or you may remain anonymous. Just tell me which you would prefer upon submitting your piece to me.

3) The deadline has not been altered due to the server move. I had this thread up a few days prior to the server move, and I've had a notice up around the forums and on the shoutbox for several days now.
The last day for submissions is September 30th. That's in 15 days ya'll. =]

4) The winner will be determined by a panel of judges. Each judge will individually read each submission and give the piece a 1-100 point score. The person who's submission receives the highest average rating, wins the competition.
The judges will be carefully selected for this specific competition by moi. If you have anyone in mind, mention, mention.

5) The next writing competition will begin within the first week of October.
 
We have 0 entrants and this blows. =D
DB and I think that by offering gil and profile awards, that more people will participate. XD
 
That would probably work for some people. But to be honest, that isn't the draw of it for me.
I think I'll enter if I can think of a good enough scene, and find the time to write it.
 
Hm... interesting... interesting..... And due by September 30? Correct? Okay, Leki has 10 days left, and is in! and already a scene has come into mind.... now to make my brain stretch.

leki will try her best!

The hardest part though will be trying to pick through two scenes.

How many entries so far then? Or how many people are currently writing something? I don't want to bother carrying on with this if I'm the only one entering.
 
Meh I'm pretty sure no one is participating...again. :monster:

I know theres a few people out there who ARE participating but they're probably waiting until the entry date to send you their entrys :D
 
That would make me quite ecstatic. ^.^
I will hand out gil right out of my own pocket if someone participates. XD
 
I'm roughly half way to two thirds through mine, so I'll probably be finished by the deadline, but I probably won't submit it until the day before the deadline incase I want to make any last minute changes. I'm willing to bet that others are doing the same.
 
It doesn't matter if there are only two contestants. ^.^
As long as there's a competition. XD

I think once these competitions start rolling, maybe more people will participate. =]
 
It probably won't pick up until a couple more have been done, so people know what's expected of them and stuff.
How long will judging take, roughly?

(I'm not an ultra nazi, so I will probably allow late submissions for those of you who are busy today. ^.^)

I already thought about how to do the judging. I don't want to do a forum vote because as I mentioned, based on past experience...too many people just can't follow the rules.

As soon as the submissions are in, I'll choose a panel of 5 judges. Of course...I can't select anyone to judge if they're already participating in the competition.

I have a few good candidates in mind for judging. If you have any suggestions, just PM me. =]

I'm collecting the submissions on Sunday, September 30th. And incidentally, I will be out of town from October 5th until the 14th. It's up to you all whether or not you want me to rush the judging, or wait until I return. =]
 
leki realy wouldn't mind waiting for the judgement for when you returned rhea, tho leki aint so sure about the others. :P

but bring it on! judgement shall fall! MAWHA.
