i want to play through ff7 aginbecause i havnt played it in the longest time. but i want to get alll the materia and everything and i dont have a computer to use any time i want.. so i was wondering what is the best guide to but .

I don't know where to find a hard copy of the guide... I wish I did though...

I used to have one, it was white and it showed all the characters standing in a row on the back. The guide is obviously very hard to find.

well thats why im going to buy it off ebay or amazon i just want to know what the best one to but cause i bought the final fantasy x-2 one and it wasnt that great

Cecil doesn't always have access to a puter.

I would buy the BradyGames version. I have the X-2 guide by them and it's very reliable, so I'm guessing 7'll be the same? The 7 guide is older so it might not be as good... You'll just have to see for yourself.

I still have my Brady Games guide for FFVII. There are many inaccuracies and there were a few things left out. But if you don't have access to a computer at all times, then I guess its your best bet. Just don't bother with the bestiary.

I think they should update seven with better graphics... And guide apparantly... Come to think of it the X-2 guide has some beasitary flaws... Hmmm, pattern anyone?

Brady Games guide for FFVII is still being sold. You can find it at your local game store or bookstore. I've seen it in Barnes and noble.

Try this: Go to a school computer lab and print a guide from Gamefaq.com when supervisors aren't looking. There you go, a free guide.

lol thanks all of you i think i will buy the brady games one. i have the x-2 one i i thought it was pretty crappy they didnt even cover via inifito. the 12 one was good.

im guessing they are being sold at around 15.00$ now am i right...

as for printing out do you knw how much paper that would cost lol but very good idea i just might do that

Yeah I know. We pay the school and libraries with our tax money so it's a far trade. I usually print out parts of a game guide or a side quest guide so I don't look too suspicious.

Mine coevered Via Infinito... It said that it was randomly generated, but it did have some story line stuff. The guide was right... The other parts are covered in the beastiary...

Like most have already said, you’re better off going online and getting a strategy guide from the net (when you get access to a computer), especially if you’re looking to do and collect just about everything possible. Best advice with the online guides… Print yourself a couple of different guides from different authors.

Can't you just go to game faqs , copy a guide into Word/ notepad , and then go print it, I'm sure you can do that , and it'll cost way less then 15 $.

if you're in the UK, get this one from play.com

i bought it a while back and its very good. I completed the game back in 1997, but i missed alot of things. I plan to re-play it and get everything, including the damn Gold Chocobo!

They've got none in stock now, but if you place an order, they will order some in hopefully, they normally do that anyway.

dude. play it through. steal a lot. you can pick up awesome weapons early game. don't go buying everything for your team at the next town. just take what is necessary and move on. you can come back later if you want. sell weapons that you don't need, same with armor. keep accessories. never use elixirs, use those for the magic pot in sephiroths cave. steal right arms from bombs at mt corel to kill off lost number later on. hardedge from soldier 3rd, carbon bangle from the robot things on the same level at 68th floor in shinra building. you can run across the marsh instead of getting chocobo lure, the midgar zolom is shit. get beta if you want, just save before. buy all defenders and 2 attackers 2 shooters at mt condor, but the attackers behind the defenders and defenders to attack the first wave, then shootesr and attackers to take down the rest. get magic comb, from that, pinwheel from the same forest where you get yuffie, stealing of course from the flying things. when fighting bosses just use offensive items, always helps early game, e.g. reno at the pillar has 1000 hp, use 10 grenades, don't attack, and all you'll have to do is use a potion, once. disc 2 and 3 you're on your own, because I'm too lazy to type out EVERYTHING, but there are some tidbits, you might find them useless or full, its up to you. um, get a weapon for vincent in kalm, its awesome, double materia growth, keep it don't sell it. red XIII use a lot, he's wicked vs boss at junon harbor. kill gi nattak with an x-potion you get from defeating reno and rude at gonganga forest. steal awesome items from the rhinotanks at the gonganga reactor. materia keeper at mt nibel don't use vincent at all his ulti will just cure it, get trine, most powerful spell. boss is lightening based so use lightening elemental for your armor to reduce dmg. just rinse through him using limits and the like. don't attack palmer with magic because his is the same power, just make sure you've got about 1500 hp when you get to cosmo canyon, 1700 hp at nibelheim, 2000 hp at rocket town and around 2600 hp at temple of ancients. get rune blade at mt nibel as well as so many awesome items don't take tube number 1 down first because its a dead end and you can't get back up top (mt nibel), take the ladders down first and then turbes to get items. costa del sol motor drive etc in the house that you can buy laterfor no apparent reason except to look like a toff. what else... dodge right instead of left to avoid elena's punch in the snow town before snow boarding down to the mountain so she rolls down and you don't get knocked out, save up to buy the weapons at this town (1st town you get to in disc 2) because they cost like 15k+ as well as kick ass armor and you won't get to another shop for a very, very long time. enhance sword on the mountain, as well as hp absorb, which you can pick up in wutai as well in disc one. get hte levi scales and go back to the mountain in wutai thats on fire and use it there to get items for yufiies and steal as well materia. don't knock over barrels to save aeris in church, just let her fight the bitch needs exp. no 5 reactor fight a lot because you won't use barret for a while and he will be lower when you raid shinra building later. ok. I'm tired. you ask more questions I@ll answer them just message me :p

Thanks for breaking that up into paragraphs and using capital letters at the start of sentences, made it much easier to read :monster:

Anyway, this site is excellent: http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/ff7/ They only cover six games, but they're very extensive and they even cover Tactics (which hardly any sites cover). No need to buy anything ^_^

K, Im going to close this as Im sure a guide is been used by now. If not, he can go through all the ideas given. But a simple Internet guide would have done.
