FF Versus XIII NOT coming to the states?

Actually VERSUS XIII hasn't been confirmed for the 360 yet.

But yeah it would be a bad move for SE not to release it in NA, they would be missing out on a tremendous amount of money, not only is Final Fantasy their leading franchise, but it will also be the first FF to be released on the Next-Gen consoles (along with XIII) and if you look at VII and X which were the first FF's to be released on their respective consoles you will see that both were HUGE financial successes.
 
Even in Japan, the PS3 isn't selling well. That's why they have FFXIII out for 360 over in Asia as well. It's actually kind of sad the the Japanese won't even buy a product by a local company... But, then again, I guess there's more Jap-developed titles for the 360, so it makes a bit more sense.

Versus 13 is only going to Be on PS3. Is already announce

Nothing I have seens shows me any evidence of it becoming a multi-platform game. The game isn't even out yet so it could go either way, you can't know for sure SE is a little wierd.

Indeed, its us poor buggers who can miss out on some great titles. We either get them late or miss them completely.


Plus Id want to see something from the internet first confirming its not getting a states release. Not everyone in the gaming shop company can be spot on.

I wouldn't consider FFXIII and FFXIII Versus 'great titles' yet, but I get your point. You were deprived of Persona 3 long enough for me to know this info. Though, we in America had to wait for that one a long time as well, you got it later.
 
We've been waiting for XIII and Versus XIII for a long time. i just wish that SE would hurry up and finish the games so everyone can enjoy them! As for the whole Xbox 360 thing, im a lil upset that sony is losing a console exclusive, but if it's going to make FF more popular, then i'm happy
 
Well if that were true I would have already moved out of the states, becuase I have been waiting for this game for the past three years.

I even bought a PS3 just for that game, because I did my homework and found out that XII was the last PS2 FF game. At first I was pissed until I got a job and saved up money.

So now I am ready for this game to come out.
 
yes Versus is coming to the states, that would bring in some huge money for them, why wouldn't they? you know?
either way, makes no difference to me I don't have a PS3, nor will I ever get one because they're so damn expensive ;D

The XBox 360 Version of FFXIII is exclusive to North America/Europe, I believe. The only country the 360-FFXIII has been confirmed for is Taiwan. That means that they probabaly are going to release it in Japan aswell... but as of yet nothing has been stated outright

the PS3 is superior to 360 but its just so expensive that people are rushing to 360. knowing this Square Enix jumped on board and released games on 360 as an atempt to keep their audience from buring holes in there wallets :D
 
Please can we keep this on topic. It's about whether FFXIII Versus is coming to the states not FFXIII. All being said, the thread title was easily misleading so that has been changed. :)
 
What versus Xiii is not coming here awwwwww oh well I guess am just going to have to play Final Fantasy Xiii. I would just say that Versus Xiii looks like more of a mature game than Xiii.

The guy who he asked was clearly clueless. From a company's point of view, not releasing it in the states would be incredibly stupid from a financial point of view.

So yes, it will be released it the states. :)
 
According to 1up.com Versus will be a PS3 Exclusive (at least right now it is) and the XBox port of FF13 will not be released in japan (according to wiki)

Sorry but some worker at gamestop probably doesn't know jack squat when it comes to games that aren't released yet and won't be for at least a year maybe more.

Really, Did you really just get that information from Wiki?! Wow obviously you know jack squat. Wiki is an uncredibal source, as it is very easy to make changes to their pages. Untill you can prove that the information is true, try sourcing another site.

Wiki is less likely to have information from a credible source. I would beleave someone who works with games all day than I site that is run by 6th graders. Thats all im saying.

As far as Square Enix is concerened, the XBox 360 version of FFXIII is going to be released simultaneously with the PS3 version BUT ONLY IN NORHT AMERICA AND EUROPE ONLY. Japan will get the PS3 version as soon as it is complete, with no word if they will get the 360 version. Japan will thus get FFXIII much earlier than North America/Europe, because Square has to develop the 360 before they release it here.

This was all stated by the developers themselves at the E3 Convention.

Two articles explaining the FFXIII situation. So if anyone said that FFXIII will not be released in North America/Europe, they are WRONG because the creators themselves have said they're already thinking about how they're going to go about the release.


Since FFXIII is cleared up, back to the matter of Versus. So far, we can't possibly know anything about the release of Versus. As of right now, the team that is supposed to be working on Versus is working on Advent Children Complete AS WELL AS helping development of FFXIII (since from what it seems, it is behind in development). That said, the development of Versus is at a standstill, with no possible news of release in sight. Therefore, this Gamestop employee wouldn't know anything regarding Versus' release because the creators don't even know anything about it yet. And believe me, Gamestop employees do not get reliable information regarding releases at all. One of my best friends is a head manager at EB Games and is constantly getting false information.

So, is Versus coming to the US? Like I said, we don't know yet, but as Mercuriel stated quite clearly, it wouldn't make sense not to release it overseas from a business perspective. The fact that Square is building all this hype over one of their main games, only to keep it Japan exclusive is just silly. Especially since the PS3 blu-ray disc is region free, which means localization would be much easier than for say, PS2 or older generation ports. They'd probably only need to include voice-overs and whatnot.

Not to mention, Versus is getting considerable more hype in the west than it is in Japan, which seems to be more excited for XIII - so it'd make sense to release it where there's possiblility for a larger market. That point, I admit, is coming mainly from observation and word of mouth.
