FF Versus XIII NOT coming to the states?

So i was down at the local gamestop last night talking to the assistant manager (i know him very well) and we were talking about good games coming out soon, so I brought up FFXIII Versus, and he said "I'm so dissapointed... its not comming to the states." And I am shocked to hear that, because im looking forward too it so much. I would like to know more about it as I had to leave because it was closing.
 
They know quite a bit, at least of stuff I care about. I have found him to be a very reliable source, as hes been to E3 for the last 3 years and he has proven himself to be a good source. I'm just looking to see if anyone has heard anything about it.
 
I'm pretty sure it will most definitely come to the states lol. SE wouldn't just not let people in the states go without. Don't forget they're money grubbing bastards and want as much money as possible

SE = Money Grubbing Bastards. Not putting it into the States would be a huge loss in the amount of money they could make.
 
Ah yes, Squenix, the company that re-releases the same damn game on every possible console. The company that makes constant subpar sequels to an game from 1997. Nope, they would lose all the possible money from an US release. :wink: Makes perfect sense.
 
Of course it's coming to the States, it's ludicrous to imagine otherwise. You should try being in Europe the number of games we miss out on, even nowadays.

I agree! :P I'm still sore that we didn't get the Chrono Trigger remake for PS1. I had to get while on holiday in the states. Still, I do like that the European versions of the Final Fantasy remakes are pure-FF. Looks nicer on the shelves :)

As for FF13. Don't worry, you guys in the US will get it :) And when you do, we in the UK will still be waiting most likely. :(
 
Even if they do know alot I just dont think it is true. As Rene said SE is all about the money so I am thinking we will be seeing it here in the states.
 
I don't think I've ever met a person that works at gamestop, that really new much about upcoming games. It has always amazed me with the wrong facts that the people at the stores near me always spew out.

I don't think I've heard even a peep of news that holds water on this not coming out here. And you'd think that a site devoted to FF would have somebody say something about it.
 
Considering i remember hearing that Microsoft nabbed FF13 for the xbox360, i'm pretty sure it's coming to the US =P

As for verses, it may be different, but i highly doubt it.
 
Google searched it yesterday. Something as big as this would have shown up, but no. So I'd feel more inclined to NOT believe this sales assistant..

No, we have missed out on some final fantasy games in the past as long as a few more games I don't know of. =P Do you really think there are only 13 ff games? you have to be a moron to think that.

No, most of the games if not all of them, are completely different in my eyes. don't judge the games if you have only played one.

Microsoft? Sony had the rights first, and i haven't heard of Microsoft grabbing the title, but anyways i thought that it was only gonna release if at all for the playstation 3
 
True. FFXIII will be released on 360 in America, PAL, and Asia. Not sure about the rest of the world... Come to think of it, PS3's release WILL be international, right? Or is that exclusive to a region or two?

That sounds about right, I have never heard of it on the 360 but it doesn't bother me if it does or doesn't since i don't have one. :wacky:
 
It's not that I care too much though. I don't plan on getting it or checking it out anyways, so, if it weren't released in the US, it would just give me something to rave about, with all the attention it would have gotten for nothing.

Edit: However, from the context the way you typed it, it sounds more like no versus XIII. That would be just as well, IMO, because the FF license was not built on spin-offs as some may be led to believe however, with Squeenix being money-hungry bitches, this is highly illogical, Captain Kirk.

Wow, are you kidding me? I'm assuming you play video games, you've played at least one of the Final Fantasy games in the series and considering the fact that you're on a Final Fantasy forum...I find it amazing that you didn't hear a peep of the news about Microsoft grabbing 13 for the 360; it was pure insanity. People were DEVASTATED over it. LIVID. ...And you haven't heard? Hrmm. Well, now you know.

As for Versus, with as much, if not more, advertising as FFXIII, there's no way in hell they would forgo an NA release. It's just not happening. The game will be released in the states (this is me making an educated guess seeing as how there has been no news about it since the game was announced), and that's that. :3

I think your concern should be more focused on when rather than if.

Well, I was gone the entire summer, and I just got back and got a new game informer subscription. so I was cut off all summer.

I have an excuse... slightly. lol
 
Yeah, seeing as how the game has been confirmed for the XBOX, it would be completely pointless not to release the game to NA shores. Seeing as how the Playstation is how much more popular in Japan, if they weren't going to release the game over seas, then they wouldn't have made it multi-platform.
