A year has passed since the world was shaken by the death of one of the greatest superstars in sports-entertainment, Chris Benoit. Regardless of the police records stating that the case was a double murder-suicide, still there are people who are quite reluctant to believe that someone like Chris Benoit could have killed his own wife and family. According to the news and the police, it is rumoured that Chris Benoit killed his family and committed suicide due to "roid-rage". Bibles were found near the bodies of both his wife and son, and also text messages were sent to Benoit's friends, the messages were believed to be fragments of Bible quoatations.

After reading different sources such as Wikipedia, FoxNews, and Encyclocentral I consider some of these facts as too strange....
-First, someone posted in Wikipedia about Nancy Benoit's death 14 hours before the police found the bodies....
-The post was made from Stamford, Connecticut while Chris Benoit was in Georgia. It means that either a) someone new about the murder and stayed quite, or b) someone else is involved in this. Stamford is also the General HQ of the WWE, so if the company was aware of this, then the least they should have done was to inform the authorities.
-If Chris Benoit suffered from Roid Rage, I believe that his reasonings should have been disabled to the point of entering an uncontrollable violent state. But...

Currently the Georgia Sheriffs Department is investigating case. They have confirmed that Benoit killed his wife and son over a three days period and then hanged himself. Nancy Benoit had some bruises on her back and stomach. The investigators reveal that perhaps Benoit might have pressed his knees at her back while pulling a cord around her neck. According to the Countys District attorney Scott Ballard, Nancy had filed a divorce on the grounds of domestic abuse from Benoit, on May 2003. But later she withdrew it on August 2003. Apart from Scott Ballards confessions, the Chris Benoit Toxicology Report proved Chris Benoit guilty of the double murder and suicide.

Chris Benoit Toxicology Report precisely revealed that three drugs were found in Nancy Benoits body but whether it was injected or taken could not be accessed. Quite high doses of hydrocodone, hydromorphone and Xanax were found. Also the alcohol level was 0.184. Over dose of Xanax was also found in Daniel Benoits system. Even some doctors think that Daniels death was due to overdose of drugs. Consistent levels of Xanax and hydrocodone were also found in Chris Benoit's system. Testosterone cypionate were found in his urine but no other artificial steroids were found in Chriss urine nor were there evidence of GHB. There was no alcohol in his blood.
-So he killed them and then injected that on his wife and son and then to himself?
-Bibles were placed next to the bodies of Nancy and Daniel Benoit, and text messages with quotations taken from the Bible were sent to Benoit's friends.
-Roid Rage happens espontaneously on a burts of anger...but to the extent of lasting for a whole weekend?
-Sensational Sherry was found dead the night before Nancy Benoit was also found dead. Sensational Sherry worked for Kevin Sullivan (Nancy's ex) and both Chris and Kevin weren't the bestest of friends either. Speculations say that this case could have been a triple murder.
-How (exactly) Benoit hung himself?
-Kevin said he was going to kill Benoit ten years ago. Again, this could have been said out of the heat of the moment, after all Benoit stole Kevin's wife (Nancy).
-The dogs were released...if Benoit had in mind to commit the murder, why draw the attention so quickly?

If anyone else has more of this odd facts, post 'em here to discuss.

Oh and the question is: Do you really believe Chris Benoit killed his family and then committed suicide? Why?

I know is opening old wounds, but shees.....after reading some stuff imagination runs lose...:brooding:

Humm Sounds like a person who read the bible while badly drugged. What were the bible quotes?
I think that he might have done it, but I don't think he did it alone. It would require some push to do that even with a drugged view of the bible.
The entire thing makes me think of what could happen if you were to not be thinking and read something that is true and law based. If that was to happen the person would do one of 2 things; they would attack the truth, or become obsessed with it and become psychotic.

It seems to me he killed his Wife and son in a 'roid-rage' and then when this had subsided he hung himself. The bibles could be a sign of remorse, not repentence though as he killed himself. If you were to look at anything close enough you probably find suggestive things, so it's probably just coincidence rather than conspiracy.

I don't think anyone can possibly know what went through his mind or what made him do what he did without an actual confession from Benoit himself. There is no rational excuse to do the atrocious things that he did. I think any man that can murder his own family is out of his friggin' mind, there is absolutely NO excuse for something as terrible as that.

Important lesson, drugs are bad. (I had an unbelievable urge to write mmmkay then) They totally wreck your mind and body. I don't think we will ever know if it was the steroids that pushed Benoit over the edge to commit the murders, but there are some strange facts there. The fact that it lasted the entire weekend was just weird. The man must have really lost his mind, I'm kind of imagining that he was in a state of heightened paranoia, why else kill your family? Placing Bibles next to their bodies looked like he was trying to save them. Strange to kill them and yet be trying to save them, which makes me think he didn't kill them out of rage. I'm thinking paranoia, like someone being after them and to save them from being hurt he kills them. Look I really don't know, like I said there is no excuse for such things.

He is not the only man to have committed this crime. In fact since this occurred I have heard a great number of cases like this one. There is a trend of it happening within cultures where bringing shame on your family is a sin. Last one I read the father was in huge debt, so he killed his wife, kids and even drove out and found his father in law and killed him as well so he couldn't shame them. I simply couldn't believe that he would go so far out of his way to kill anyone closely associated with the family because of the shame. Its crazy.

sounds a little too fishy to me too.maybe the higher ups of the company were also involved and the company used money to cover it up,its not impossible or even improbable.

Yes, perhaps the fact of Chris Benoit being one of the most loved wrestling superstars can make it hard for fans like us to belive that he was capable of committing such an attrosity. Although I do believe "Roid Rage" might have been a trigger, I do not entirely place all the guilt on such theory. For instance, Roid Rage is a bust of rage, it happens in an instant and it does not last for days, however; depression associated with steroid abuse could have also been a factor. Still, it is strange because Christ Benoit passed all toxicological tests made by the WWE a few days (perhaps a week or so) before the murders. Perhaps he took the roids during the weekend, perhaps not. The problem is that we will never truly know what really happened during that weekend.

There is a strong chance he did kill them and then committed suicide, then again there's another good chance that it could have been a triple murder. It is no secret that Chris Benoit was involved in many feuds (both fictional and real) during his days in WCW, ECW, and WWF/WWE.

Maybe what makes this so strange is the whole deal with those strange messages and those Bibles. Why Bibles? If he was a victim of Roid Rage then, why placing Bibles passed through his mind? And finally, how did that guy found out about Nancy Benoit's death 14 hours before the police found the corpses? Coincidence, I do not think so. I coincidence could have been saying that Benoit's son, Danniel, was ill or that Chris Benoit suffered a torn muscle or whatever, but saying something so accurate as Nancy's death so earlier?

I couldn't find the Bible quotes used, but I found a few which were sent to two co-workers:

Messages provided by WWE News said:
  • 3:53 AM - Chris Benoit's cell phone: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayeteville Georgia. 30215"
  • 3:53 AM - Chris Benoit's cell phone: "The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open."
  • 3:54 AM - Nancy Benoit's cell phone: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayeteville Georgia. 30215"
  • 3:55 AM - Nancy Benoit's cell phone: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayeteville Georgia. 30215"
  • 3:58 AM - Nancy Benoit's cell phone: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayeteville Georgia. 30215"

Ones sent to Benoit two days after his death:

- One text read: "Wish I could see the match you and Eddie are having today. You loved pro wrestling and the world of pro wrestling loves you Chris, and it won't be the same without you." -- Another text read: "God bless your soul, brother. Thank you for all you've done. God bless you, Nancy and your son."
-- A prominent WWE star texted: "I love you Chris."

As for the Bible quotes, I suppose that they are mere speculation....I can't find them anywhere....

It could have been said in a phone call, but it won't be known. I don't see why they arn't checking out the quotes it could show what his mental state was.
